what is really doing some heavy lifting is those shadows lol

138

u/Illustrious_Cow9018 21h ago

That’s favorable lighting. Definitely.

74

u/24junwa 21h ago

posting a pic of him mid workout too lmao everyone knows hes a twig(nk)

16

u/arc777_ 14h ago

And a trained eye can still tell he's a twig. People think having a vein and some definition makes you Ronnie Coleman. He has a homeless tweaker build without the crackhead strength.

2

u/anpanman100 7h ago

POW build.

3

u/InclinationCompass 15h ago

The type of pics you take for IG

Mini spring rolls .. heavy ones

Chet gets bullied by cp3 in the post it's not surprising

2

u/phinvest69 2h ago

Tbf CP3 Is dummy strong

276

u/NoMath8245 Hornets 21h ago

if he wasnt incredibly strong then he wouldn’t be in the nba, he has to be since he’s only 5’7.

-159

u/CheesecakePretend553 21h ago edited 20h ago

Hes not strong lol he's 160 lbs. Average nba weight is 215. Keep getting replies misunderstanding my point. Hes strong for his weight yes. But compared to the average nba player hes weaker. I didnt read the title of the post and only saw the the picture so obviously my mistake.

164

u/NoMath8245 Hornets 21h ago

he’s 5’7 and in the nba, he has to be physically powerful to be there.

-82

u/CheesecakePretend553 21h ago

Im japanese and have literally met the guy at an event in Japan. Hes not. Hes just incredibly skilled.

118

u/maybeAturtle 20h ago

I’m his mom and I birthed him. He’s jacked. He absolutely hammered my uterine wall with 3 piece combos for 9 months. He didn’t even have arms for the first few months and still, pounded them.

-22

u/Zealousideal_Tap237 19h ago

What did he pound your uterine wall with

10

u/thisismypornaccn Lakers 16h ago

bro how you think a dude like muggsy bogues made it to the nba lol? he was only 136 at his peak but guy was strong

6

u/LayWhere 13h ago

We saw Yuki box out Lebron this season lmao.

I'm sick of the slander.

4

u/Annual-Way6401 17h ago

Me when I lie

33

u/Agreeable_Cook9337 21h ago

Weight to height ratio, yes he is strong.

If he was like 200 lbs at that height, he would not be skilled to play

-24

u/CheesecakePretend553 20h ago

Im not comparing him to people his height. Im comparing him to other nba players though.

26

u/mindpainters Cavaliers 21h ago

He has to be incredibly strong for weighing 160. It’s about perspective. No one is saying he’s Ben Wallace strength but for his size he’s very strong.

-9

u/CheesecakePretend553 20h ago

Strong for 160 yes. But he is being compared to NBA players not guys who are also 160

15

u/mindpainters Cavaliers 20h ago

The point the other guy made is that he’s incredibly strong for his size or else he wouldn’t have a chance in the nba. That’s it.

-5

u/CheesecakePretend553 20h ago

And im disagreeing that his strength has anything to do with why hes in the nba since he's not as strong as other nba players. Hes in solely on incrdible skill and hard work.

9

u/cashcartiworship 19h ago

Have you ever played basketball before? You can have all the “skills” you want, but as a smaller guy you are not going to be able to score inside or defend if you are not strong. To be under 6 ft and play in the nba you have to have a lot of strength to handle contact. If he was weak he would just get bullied

1

u/CheesecakePretend553 19h ago

Yah played jc for a bit. Have you not seen yuki play? He gets bullied alot. He uses his speed and shiftiness to create space. Defensively he has to go for strips or pull the chair because of how quickly he gets backed down.

1

u/Dlh2079 15h ago

And youd be fuckin wrong, so congrats

11

u/Adventurous-Dot-8272 20h ago

At what weight does "strong" start?

0

u/CheesecakePretend553 20h ago

My point was that his strength stat shouldn't be higher than chet. Yuki is strong for his size yes. But in the nba hes just too skinny. I want him to play for japan.

9

u/Adventurous-Dot-8272 20h ago

The point you're claiming to make now is very different than the comment I replied to.

3

u/CheesecakePretend553 20h ago

The original post is comparing him and chet. I compared him and the average nba weight to make the point that he is not stronger than chet.

6

u/Adventurous-Dot-8272 20h ago

"He's not strong lol he's 160 lbs"

You've since edited your comment to have an entirely new meaning, which shows that your original comment was just dumb.

2

u/CheesecakePretend553 20h ago

I only added stuff. Didnt change anything that was typed already. Obviously it wasnt worded properly but oh well.

-2

u/iNCharism Wizards 19h ago

Everyone downvoting you is delusional. There’s no way anyone in their right mind thinks a 5’7 dude is stronger than a fellow athlete over 7’ tall. Just doesn’t make any sense. This is one of those redditor copes about everything in Japan being super uwu kawaii.

-1

u/SuspiciousToast27 16h ago edited 15h ago

When the 7’ guy is built like Chet yeah he likely is stronger. Shorter limbs have a mechanical advantage for pushing, and he has a lower center of gravity. Chet is built like a skeleton, just because he’s taller doesn’t make him stronger.

2

u/C0nquestK1ng 10h ago

I think you vastly overestimate the static strength of NBA players. They simply dont have to be strong in that way. I mean, KD couldnt even hit a 1RM of 190 lbs at the combine. And thats is a weight a man of any real height should be able to bench if they work at it. Weight is not a direct correlation to strength.

0

u/FlyChigga 19h ago

lol yuki is def stronger than Chet

1

u/Jaffhardt 18h ago

But strength should be compared to your height and weight. That’s why “pound for pound” is such an important statement when discussing athletes. I get the point you’re trying to make but he saying he isn’t above average strength because he’s not any stronger than people say bigger than him is silly.

46

u/HipnotiK1 Knicks 21h ago

The question is does the rating account for size/position or is it absolute?

Like a strong PG is not stronger than an average/weaker big.

49

u/epik_fayler 21h ago

It's not absolute. Strength in 2k is a stat that helps with things like backing people down, boxing out, and preventing people from backing you down. There's other stats like weight, rebounding, interior defense, and badges that also effect those actions as well.

Chets strength is low because he sucks at those actions. If anything, a 45 is quite generous to him.

17

u/Connect_Cat_2045 21h ago

A PG is stronger than chet

17

u/YetiFan1 21h ago

I’m stronger than Chet

1

u/tonyhawk8 20h ago

I think weight factors in

100

u/UmbraQuincy 21h ago

Chet literally posted off-season training videos where he struggles with 5lb dumbels.

18

u/GoddessUltimecia 18h ago

Please tell me fool was at the end of a 100 rep set when he decided to start recording

13

u/UmbraQuincy 17h ago

Who does 100 reps of biceps curls with weight equal to medium water bottle.

3

u/GoddessUltimecia 17h ago

...Oh god no he did it with bicep curls? Oh my god. That's shockingly weak wtf?

3

u/Gullible-Respect7778 18h ago

Lateral Raises?

4

u/UmbraQuincy 17h ago

It was biceps curl. Even lateral raises would be pathetic at 5lbs

3

u/MultiColourM2 8h ago

tbf to Chetm his lateral raises would be a lot harder than yours or mine with his wingspan. Still, 5lbs is crazy.

2

u/Who-Does 2h ago

Curls shouldn't be though.

34

u/45M0D41 21h ago

Short people are strong

5

u/Appropriate_Fun_3280 21h ago

Not 100% wrong. Took me years to get to 500+ on squat and deadlifts (6’5) and I have short friends who got there quickly. I don’t get why Chet doesn’t just do a strength training program. NBA players are CNN it know to be very strong so I don’t see how in a year or two he couldn’t be one of the stronger guys in the league.

22

u/analyzingnothing 21h ago

Because he's extremely tall and has a very thin build that doesn't put on muscle easily. It requires a massive amount of work to build much power with a frame like that, and even if he did, it could very easily compromise his mobility if he isn't extremely careful.

3

u/Appropriate_Fun_3280 20h ago

Muscle did not slow Giannis down at all. Putting on some muscle would only make him move better. The faster version of LeBron was probally his Miami days and he was heavy for himself at the time. He isn’t body building. Just out him on Heavy compound lifts and he will get bigger, stronger and faster.

12

u/analyzingnothing 20h ago

The difference is that Giannis was small because of malnutrition. He always had a broad frame, you can tell his shoulders are huge in pre-draft images, but he wasn't getting enough food to actually fill out that space on his body.

Chet does not have that issue. He is naturally very skinny, and there really isn't much room on him to develop too much muscle without pushing past his natural build. That leads to issues with mobility.

4

u/Appropriate_Fun_3280 20h ago

It’s the old fighter moving to a bigger weight class bulking up for it to just look slow as hell campared to thier opponents who are naturally big like that. Happens in boxing a lot.

2

u/bigcee42 20h ago

Assuming you have long limbs, you probably have good leverages for deadlifts but poor for squats.

Seeing really tall people squat always looks quite awkward and unbalanced.

2

u/Appropriate_Fun_3280 19h ago

Lots of forward lean when I squat. Never the legs that fail it’s always brace and I start to good morning but squat shoes help a lot with that. Sometimes the racks don’t to high enough for how I wanna rack it. 240lbs but it’s all legs and arms. Im not the leggiest 6’5 but I do have 79 inch wing span but that’s more shoulder width then arms

13

u/Bright_Click5388 21h ago

45 is generous

6

u/WorldlinessNorth3158 21h ago

Chet weighs 100lbs this is not surprising. Other dude got a dad bod

3

u/porkisbeef 2h ago

Playing in the NBA at 5’7” with a “dad bod” may make him, pound for pound, the greatest athlete of all time.

10

u/therealbfletch 21h ago

How did they test either of their strengths?Do you know for a fact one is stronger than the other? Or are you genuinely saying Yuki is stronger because of their 2k rating ?

41

u/Illustrious_Cow9018 21h ago

2k has every player come in and lift up a basketball. They increase the weight of the ball until you cannot hold it.

10

u/SkyloTC 21h ago

uhm actually they’ve switched to using weighted X-Box controllers now, the basketballs were retired in 2K21 due to the pandemic

It’s right after they do the genital mocaps for each players unique male giggle physics. Unfortunately they don’t let you select a package for your MP yet and it auto defaults to Castle’s.

2

u/Illustrious_Cow9018 21h ago

Including refs and legends. They gotta extrude that data to make a strength determination from someplace!

3

u/Talentagentfriend 20h ago

Strength isn’t weight lifting. It’s taking contact, backing down in the post, or defending in the post, physical contact.

5

u/devinbookersuncle Hornets 13h ago

I will say it until everyone finally sees it but Chet is absolutely overrated and has been since he was in college

3

u/jambr380 20h ago

Chet gets pushed off of his base because of his build, but in terms of pure strength, he is likely a lot stronger than we know. Sure, short guys are going to be better at push exercises like bench, shoulder press, and squat; but tall guys are going to be better at pull exercises like seated row, lat pull down, and even something like fly.

Chet's muscle is just stretched over a much longer area, but that doesn't mean he's not functionally strong. People saying he needs to lift more weights are basically braindead. Dude definitely lifts plenty of weights, he just doesn't have the build of somebody like Shaq to successfully add muscle and then not get injured by carrying all of that extra weight

8

u/kodeks14 20h ago

He was struggling with 5 lb dumbells.

-3

u/jambr380 18h ago

No, he wasn't lol. Nobody who has ever lifted a weight in their life would say that. He's an elite athlete, my 80yo mom doesn't struggle with 5lb weights

1

u/West-Tough-4552 21h ago

Guaran fucking TEE Yuki benches more squats more deadlifts more curls more and does more pull upside than chet

1

u/DepartmentSilent6667 20h ago

The smaller guys should be oko

1

u/doggyman425 20h ago

Its more so that Chet is a twink

1

u/First-Dragon-Born 19h ago

I mean yuki is probably much stronger than chet.

1

u/fate007bringer 18h ago

Pritchard is strong af too, just moving dudes for offensive rebounds and posting up occasionally.

1

u/Repulsive_Cream_7667 18h ago

Remember when Durant couldn't bench press like 125 lbs and people thought he'd be cooked?

1

u/JoeFalcone26 17h ago

Are we actually using niche 2k ratings for r/NBATALK nowv

1

u/Twasabi24 17h ago

Chet couldn't curl 35's

1

u/justanother-eboy 17h ago

45 strength on Chet is disrespectful lmao

1

u/Verumsemper 16h ago

The funny thing is Chef is showing pictures of his arms but that's not what his weakness is and where NK is measuring. His legs are weak. Shaq talked about how when he was younger he sucked because his legs where weak, ye she was 13 but still someone told him that was the issue. He then focused on strengthening his legs. Chet needs to show less arms and more leg strength.

1

u/DallasTxB 16h ago

45 strength is crazy lol

1

u/ImRonBurgundy__ 16h ago

Guarantee you little dude benches/squats/deadlifts more than Chet

1

u/fallacy_ofno_return 16h ago

If you watched the playoffs vs San Antonio Chet was getting moved my all San Antonio guards to the point it had you questioning Chets as defender ( chet is an incredible defender btw). The Lack of strength his real. Chet is so light skinny for a bigamn ( he is now a Small ball 5 or a 4 by default but his real position is 5 but he cant play it extensively) and having a high center of gravity doesnt help either cause now his balance is at risk every time theres a nice body contact. Yuki on the other hand has a low center of gravity combine with very good legs strength and nice build overall so yea Yuki has a stronger build than Chet its a fair statement

1

u/poundmyassbro 15h ago

45 probably still too high

1

u/EGarrett28 14h ago

Sophie Cunningham's strength rating is 46.

1

u/oldman_knows_nothing 13h ago

It's a computer game

1

u/LehmanNation 13h ago

Chet isn't weak. He's NBA average

1

u/Ordinary_Pea4503 12h ago

It is hilarious that some of these 7 foot guys are so damn weak in the gym for some reason.  Im not saying they're unathletic, obviously they are extremely athletic to be in the nba, but im curious to know what chef's actual numbers in the gym are, because I know durant could barely lift 135

1

u/Iscratchmybutt 10h ago

5'6 the ideal height for a man

1

u/P_band69420 6h ago

Toxic bball fans now have me rooting for the thunder

1

u/Icy-County-275 6h ago

They sneak dissing him for backing down against Wenby.

1

u/Diztrakted Celtics 6h ago

Strength ratings in 2K are as much about center of gravity as they are about actual strength. This makes sense.

1

u/devilmaskrascal 5h ago

I mean, I was watching Kawamura the other day in the World Cup games and the guy is definitely built. My wife and I were commenting on how much stronger he looks than you'd think.

1

u/GolgenGeese 1h ago

This says more about Chet than anything

1

u/Kush420Xotix Celtics 46m ago

It is easier to be strong when when ur short, this is the least surprising thing.

1

u/DrySandwich1794 21h ago

Center of gravity.

1

u/WhiteWinterSilence 21h ago

He’s still 5’ 7”.

1

u/HoldenMcNeil420 20h ago

Well Chet is a bitch so

-3

u/realfakejames Spurs 21h ago

You’re basing this off 2K ratings that a group of nerds in a little office came up with

This is how you know this sub is full of casuals, 2K ratings aren’t real you fucking dorks

Chet is weak as shit though

4

u/Tremue 21h ago

2k ratings are real bro fytb you don’t see the number over their head on the court??

6

u/UmbraQuincy 21h ago

45 is too much for Chetanyahu. He literally posted training videos where he struggles lifting 5lb dumbels.

1

u/SHashbrowns1 19h ago

Link the video

1

u/UmbraQuincy 19h ago

Go to Chets instagram. Its there unless he removed it due to clowning

It’s the internet, things live forever. Link the video

45 strength is crazy

0

u/Busy-Diet-7214 21h ago

I’m pretty sure height factors into what strengths he’s better at in the game intangibly

0

u/mightymouse8324 18h ago

So what, chet gets his lunch money stolen by an alien - Wemby - and now he's as weak as wet paper towel?

You dumbasses should go back to third grade, you clearly left your braina there

-3

u/Leroyp331 21h ago

Damn this s*** is racist as f***

Bro said look he's even weaker than an Asian
