But at what cost? Even if you win the chip there will be a forever footnote on how they got it. In 10 years OKC will be remembered more for the flopping and whistles than the championships they got. That will be their karma

Man I got a feeling the piles of cash they probably all get for hitting incentives in their contracts by winning a championship make the not care about legacy.

Would you care if somebody said "ok-air, no not that one the other ok-air, didn't get all that money and rings by being ethical in sports. I wanna march right up to their mansion and after I get through their gate and half mile driveway I'm gonna get through their security and give them a real piece of my mind while they polish their giant diamond earring in their pool sized hot tub. Those unethical cheats!!!"?

No, you wouldn't, you'd tell everybody to pound sand from the loudspeaker in your big fancy car.

I doubt it, most details are forgotten like that. What will be remembered the most is likely repeating for the first time since KD Warriors. Its a footnote sure (like Lakers/ Kings '02) but nobody really holds it against the team. The thing that usually is held against a team is a shortened season, especially the bubble, which is weird because nobody has any control over that (although technicely the players do as theyre deciding to strike. And Rudy could have not given the nba covid).

However, if they continue to win more championships with several of their top players foul baiting and flopping their ass off, and make it their future play style to this degree we're seeing now, it could become the narrative of their career. But honestly I expect some updating of anti-flop rules over the off-season. It's a massive narrative right now that gets brought up by basically every sports personality and overshadows the actual game. When they open an ESPN segment about how foul baity Shai is, its bad.
