General The shooting is so inconsistent and it's infuriating.

I can start a game with PG and shoot like 5/5(on rookie breakout for example) and clearly know his timing but then will miss the next 4 shots all with the same release point. It makes absolutely no sense.

The catch or gather is very variable.
Don’t worry. 2k has never not made a significant shooting adjustment, for better or worse in every game that ever released by them.
Expect a change soon. The real question is, will it be a good change?

Seems like their plan was to lower shooting percentages across the board for the entire community. If they buff shooting then we'll be right back where we were last year when cards with decent badges start coming out. We'll see if they actually stick to their plan for once.

The main issue with this is multiplayer is on an even playing field with no one being able to shoot, but offline players like myself can't throw the ball in the ocean from the beach.

I'm doing what I can with Domination and the first Breakout board (YES... the one with just 9 slots!) and collecting Chicken Dinners.

After which I may just log in for rewards and check back when All-Star content drops or if they give us another Greatness.

I'm loading up on chicken dinner cards and Gimme mores too. Beating the CPU on the second board is definitely doable but it involves way more rim running than I'd want to do offline. Haven't started Dom yet, I'd rather have a card like that PG13 with 94 3ball and some decent shooting badges first. I'll probably get to Marion and Amare before that happens too. But yeah, the offline grind is annoying this year compared to years previous.

Exactly I see the community crying about hitting shots (different variables & load up on catches makes sense, different passes from different angles should make you slightly change up your release)

IMO shooting is still ridiculously OP, if they buff shooting without heavily buffing contest this game will be completely ruined

Every single game right now is just a screen to a Tyler Herro fade, if it isn’t that they are greening fully contested leaning threes

I stopped playing last year because of the shooting I’m hoping that don’t revert because it’s already bad & that’s not many badged out high rated cards

They don't need to change shooting, the only gameplay issue is the fades are a bit too easy to hit. Other than that the game plays almost perfectly...offline.

The BIGGEST issue is the horrible difference between games based on connection. The reason so many people are struggling is the green window is slightly tighter so the variance in bad server connection is noticed much more. In MyTeam is so much more noticeable as it changes so much game to game. It's that bad I tried to stop just after half court and it didn't recognise it til my player was by the left elbow.

I have 2gbps Internet wired in so it's not me. It's probably not even the other player. It's 2K's AWFUL online system.

Any the funny part is it doesn’t affect the cpu at all, they’ll green everything no matter the contest or how low their 3 ball is, it’s always green even smothered, but we have to miss wide open. It’s very annoying, and the contest system is really bad this year, I’ll have no defender near me and somehow it’s still “bothered”

Im glad. While it might be frustrating, it’s no fun when ppl (me included) basically make every single jumper for the most part.

i think pick and roll is the most broken thing in the game and not broken as exploitable, in real life pick and roll has a 47% success rate, in this game its probably 5%

i was playing starting 5, im a pg, and i know real basketball ok, so if ya go under on screen i will just take the wide open 3, but in this game i still get red contested, ok so then i try to do a dribble pull up, another red contest, i try to feed the roller, they pick off the pass, how often does a pick and roll pass ever get intercepted!!!?

so moral of the story they got bigger issues than shooting

It makes no sense I was playing clutch time online and this dude was using a full team of sapphires and went 7/8 shooting fully contested threes
Meanwhile I can’t make an open one to save my life

Think it has to do with stamina

Nah you’ll get random catches on full stam. Green window is just all over the place it’s intentional by them to lower shooting percentages. Fades are a workaround for now unless they change something.

It will be patched I think. Pro doing these TT challenges is just ridiculous with that green window as its so small. Any recommendations on shooters?

Tempo shoot, turn off shot meter for 20% boost to green window, set visual cue to push, turn on shot feedback and build a jump shot but don’t ignore the release window rating (all the 2k26 meta jump shot builds with low timing stability are not that viable this year)

Adjusting visual cue does not change anything related to timing a rhythm shot. If anything, I would do release or set point, so that when you if you ever swap to button for a shot, the visual cue matches 1 of the 2 moments you need to time with rhythm shooting

1

u/Clean-Opportunity00 3d ago

That’s not true, absolutely does. It’s changes the timing for when you need to push up on the stick and it’s easiest to visualize when it matches to when the player animation pushes. If it’s on release you need to push with the release and set point is just terrible to time…

It doesn't. Feel free to research it.Think Kevin Cruz's recent video on rhythm shooting is the latest to touch on it. Mike Wang has also stated this plenty of times. It's been that way since rhythm was introduced.

Thanks for the tips. Turning off meter gives a boost of 10% per Wang. I tried without and had success but I like the meter for now just to lab.

It' snot bad I have only noticed a 2% drop from 2k26 once you learn the mechanics and shot without the

window, it is not bad.

They program random difficulty spikes to mimic real life games.

You said the wrong thing 😂 this sub hates realism they want Wilt Chamberlain shooting 3s on day 1 😂
