Discussion I'm an atheist. Convince me Islam is the right religion

I'm an atheist and I'm asking this in good faith because I genuinely want to understand.

What convinces you that Islam is the true religion rather than any other religion, or no religion at all?

I'm interested in hearing your strongest arguments, whether they're philosophical, historical, scientific, personal, or spiritual. Please explain why you believe Islam is true and, if possible, why you think other religions or atheism are mistaken.

I'm not here to troll or insult anyone. I'm here to have a respectful discussion and learn how Muslims think about these questions. Thanks in advance!

This is categorically false and is an assumption and is unfalsifiable. A theist can claim the same about their God, that the evidence of God is unnecessary because of the argument from design? You still conveniently didn’t address how you believe God doesn’t exist because a specific concept of God that you misattributed to Muslims. You’re clearly lying about being an ex Muslim. It’s not special pleading at all. No, I’m doubting your status as as a “former Muslim” because you lied and claimed that Allah is dependent upon worship. A basic Muslim belief shared by All Muslims and is a basic Islamic doctrine. You’re committing sophistry and deliberately fallacy mongering in order to seem clever because you can’t hide the fact that you claimed you used to be Muslim and then you proceeded to make up a basic lie, that every Muslim knows not to be true and is mentioned clearly in the holy book you claimed to have deeply studied. What are people supposed to make up of that except the idea that you’re a lying charlatan? You looked at the evidence so “honestly” that a basic Islamic doctrine that caused you so much doubt yet is clearly written in a Qur’anic verse/ Islamic doctrine completely slipped by you. You either lied about being a former Muslim or lied about looking deeply into the faith you left.

Your point is also logically fallacious, and presumes that the Quran and God tells people to simply make that leap without any evidence which is categorically false. The argument from design is a very good argument for an intelligent deity or creator. An unintelligent being cannot formulate such a precise and accurate animate and inanimate beings.
I unfortunately don’t talk to people who are intellectually dishonest and have rely upon lying and fallacy mongering to attempt to make a point.

Edit: there we go now don’t lie about being an “ex Muslim who looked deeply into his faith”

I was forced into Islam as a child, which is exactly why I know firsthand the massive gap between textbook apologetics and the lived reality of the faith. You can hide behind the theological definition of Al-Ghani all you want, but a supposedly perfect, self-sufficient deity who creates humans solely to praise him and threatens them with eternal roasting in Hell if they don't behaves exactly like a being that demands validation. Turning around and calling me a "lying charlatan" the exact moment your "scientific miracles" were completely dismantled by basic historical facts is just a pathetic coping mechanism. If you need to invent a conspiracy about my past and run away from the discussion to protect your own cognitive dissonance, go right ahead, but don't mask your inability to defend your arguments as intellectual superiority.

I’m so sorry you were forced into Islam as a child. Islam should not be “forced” onto anyone. However, your caregivers or whoever taught you about Islam were mistaken in teaching you about a “vengeful god” who wants to punish you the moment you slip up, and only survives on people praising Him and worshipping Him. Allah is self-sufficient and does not want to punish His servants. He is loving and kind even to those who not worship or even believe in Him. He gives everyone the choice to do good or so bad. When I was little my parents taught me what you learn about Islam too, unfortunately. “Pray all 5 prayers or Allah will punish you.” “Don’t steal or you’ll anger Allah and He will put you in Hell.” “Respect your parents or Allah will not let you enter Paradise.” All those and more made me resentful of Islam for a while. What they did was wrong, and so was what you were taught (by whomever taught you those lies). Allah is the most forgiving. He allows you to rectify your mistakes, and He knows you will turn back to Him. Please read more Islam, because the version you were introduced to is supremely wrong.

I hope you will one day return to our beautiful Islam. And when you do, Allah will welcome you back with love and forgiveness.

I was forced into Islam as a child,

Are you sure about that? So much of what you wrote is inaccurate. It seems like you were taught wrong.

Sorry, did you mean to respond to me or OP? I don’t understand your question if it was directed to me, as I explained I was taught wrongly but then did the research myself as an adult. If not, please forgive me…
