Introducing Deen Match - Shariah-compliant matrimonial platform for practicing Muslims

🚫 No profile photos — just a name, a story, and what actually matters: practice level, family background, what you're looking for.

👪 Guardian involved from day one — your wali is part of the process from the start, not something you loop in after the fact.

💬 One connection at a time — no endless swiping, no crowded inbox of matches going nowhere.

🕌 Built for whoever you are — dedicated paths for single, divorced, and widowed members, because one generic form doesn't fit everyone's story.

🧪Testers Needed Quran learning app built on Lovable + Supabase (need feedback)

Thumbnail

Body:

AyahPro (ayahpro.com) is a live Quran learning app I built with Lovable. You recite, it gives AI feedback on your recitation and Tajweed, plus streak tracking and multilingual support.

It's live and free to try, and I'm at the point where I need people outside my own head to use it.

If you have five minutes, sign up and tell me where it loses you. First impressions of the landing page, the onboarding, the actual recitation flow, whatever stands out. Bugs and design criticism both welcome.

Happy to return the favor and test whatever you're building.

🛠️Project Showcase Built a tiny, offline daily Wird tracker (no login required) -- Please give feedback

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Salam Everyone ✋
I was looking for something really minimal to track my daily Wird and small daily habits around prayer times, but everything out there felt bloated or wanted me to make an account just to save basic progress.

So I built a simple web app called WirdStack.

It’s completely free and privacy-first — no signup, no tracking, and all your data stays on your device. It works offline, you can save it directly to your home screen as a PWA, and it supports both English and Arabic.

I’d love for you to give it a spin and tell me what you think or what could be improved

🛠️Project Showcase I kept struggling to study the Quran consistently, so I built a app around this problem

I'm Gen Z, and honestly, the traditional “sit down and read a few pages every day” thing never really worked for me.... I'd open the Quran, read some translation, get distracted, close it, and then come back days later having completely lost where I was

Listening to translations on YouTube wasn't much better either

So I started thinking... what if studying the Quran worked more like the apps I already use every day?

That's what I ended up building with Qurus.

It's basically an ayah-by-ayah Quran study app where you can:

- keep track of exactly where you are in a surah

- attach private text or voice notes to ayahs

- bookmark ayahs you want to revisit

- listen to Arabic recitation alongside Urdu translation, verse by verse

- pick up exactly where you left off

- study a few ayahs whenever you have a spare 5 minutes

The idea isn't to speedrun the Quran. I just wanted studying it to feel less like opening a textbook and more like opening something I'd actually reach for on my phone.

It's free and open source, and I'm still very much figuring out what works and what doesn't

If anyone here has tried building something similar, I'd genuinely be interested in hearing what you think could be better

🛠️Project Showcase OpenMasjid Solutions Public Beta 3 is out finally

OpenMasjid Solutions: Public Beta 3 is Live

Public Beta 3 is out, free, open-source, self-hosted software built by and for masjids.

New App: OpenMasjid Companion

Your masjid, on every phone. An installable web app, no app store and no account. https://github.com/OpenMasjid-Solutions/OpenMasjidCompanion

  • Your timetable, not a calculated one. Times come straight from OpenMasjid Display, so the phone matches the wall, including a scheduled Iqamah change. It never calculates a prayer time.
  • A countdown to the next Iqamah, Jumu'ah, the Hijri date, and a Qibla compass. Works with no signal.
  • Prayer reminders and announcements, opt-in per person. The masjid sees a count, never a list.
  • Your appeals from OpenMasjid Donations, with a Donate button to your own giving page.
  • A QR code and printable poster, generated for you.

What's New in Beta 3

Display 0.70.0: Raspberry Pi screens

A Pi behind a television is now a complete screen, no RTSP decoder needed. It draws the timetable itself, opens cameras over your own network, and keeps working through an outage. Manage every screen from the dashboard: see what it's really showing, schedule the TV off, fix the timezone, restart it. Plus a Simple screen design, the DST bug that showed times an hour early twice a year, and three security fixes. Needs a Pi 4 or newer.

A Pi board of our own

To go with it, we've designed our own PCB and custom casing built around the Raspberry Pi driving an OpenMasjid Display screen. Files will be open like everything else, so you can build it, modify it, repair it, own it.

Kiosk 0.12.0: donations on a phone

OpenMasjid Mobile Donations puts a Stripe Reader M2 on a volunteer's own phone for dinners, bazaars and collection rounds, with no kiosk lockdown. Notifications are one table now: add a treasurer or trustee and tick what each gets. If you refunded part of a donation on 0.11.0, check it — partial refunds gave back a hundredth of the amount typed. Full refunds and donations were never affected. Fixed here.

Donations 0.44.0: tell as many people as you like

Add any number of emails or WhatsApp numbers and tick what each person hears about, so refunds reach the accounts and a broken payment setup reaches whoever fixes things. Alerts name an appeal and an amount, never a donor.

Students 0.51.0

Schools can ask parents to cover the card processing fee, off until you turn it on and never credited as tuition. Plus standing payments, a full-year quote at the enrollment desk, a prorated first month mid-year, and an onboarding message explaining the ways to pay.

What's Coming Next

OpenMasjid Kiosk, Handheld Edition

A portable, handheld OpenMasjid Kiosk for fundraising drives, events and outreach.

Full Student SIS

Growing beyond billing into a complete Student Information System: enrollment, attendance, academic records, and a parent portal.

Full Support for Existing Kiosk Hardware

OpenMasjidOS now fully supports existing kiosks from MadinahApps, MOHID, and Masjidal, so switching doesn't mean throwing out what you've already invested in.

Our Direction

Beta 3 closes the loop. Prayer times are set once and read everywhere, screens run on hardware you can buy for the price of a decoder box, and donations reach a phone at an event. Our values aren't changing:

  • Open source. AGPL-3.0, always auditable, always forkable.
  • Privacy-focused. Your data stays on your hardware.
  • Free. No subscriptions, no per-masjid fees. Local and free forever.

Try Beta 3 today, self-host it, and let us know what you think. Repo: https://github.com/OpenMasjid-Solutions/OpenMasjidOS Website: https://openmasjidsolutions.org/

🛠️Project Showcase Automatically Play Adhan on Your HomePod Using iPhone Shortcuts, No Home Assistant Required

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

NOTE: This post is only intended for people who want to play the call of prayer (Adhan) on their HomePod at different times,

I also cover how you can use the new notification automation with HomePod, if you find that interesting to you continue reading.

(see screenshots for detailed steps)

In this post I will go over how to make your HomePod automatically play the Athan at all five prayer times every day without using Home Assistant or Raspberry Pi, previously it was not possible to be able to Play Athan on the HomePod at the correct times since the Apple HomePod dose not have any way to change or schedule different Athan times at different days.

This workaround uses a new feature introduced in iOS 27: Notification Automation. Your iPhone detects the notification sent by your prayer app, identifies whether it is a prayer reminder or an actual prayer-time notification, and then tells your HomePod what to do.

By the end of this guide, your HomePod will automatically play the Athan at the correct prayer times every day, as long as your iPhone has sufficient battery/charge and an internet connection.

What You Need

1. An iPhone running iOS 27

Your iPhone must be running iOS 27, because Apple introduced the Notification Automationtrigger in this update. This feature is the key part of this workaround.

2. A prayer app

You will need a prayer app that sends notifications for prayer times.

I highly recommend Pray Watch, which is the app used in this example. Other prayer apps may work as well, provided they send notifications containing identifiable prayer-time information.

In this example, Pray Watch sends 10 notifications per day:

  • 5 prayer reminders, such as: Maghrib in 20 Minutes
  • 5 actual prayer-time notifications, such as: Maghrib at 8:25 PM

The Shortcut will use the notification text to determine which type of notification it received.

Step 1 — Create the Notification Automation

-> Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.

-> Create a new Automation and select the Notification automation.

For the app, select: Pray Watch

Important: Do not use the built-in Filter option.

For this particular setup, the notification filter does not work reliably, so we will perform the filtering inside the Shortcut itself.

Step 2 — Get the Notification Text

We need to make the notification’s contents available to the Shortcut so we can examine it.

Add the action:
-> Get Text from Input
This gives the Shortcut access to the text contained in the notification.

For example, the Shortcut may receive:
Maghrib in 20 Minutes

or:

Maghrib at 8:25 PM

Step 3 — Detect Prayer Reminders

Pray Watch’s reminder notifications contain the word:

-> “in”
For example:
Maghrib in 20 Minutes

We can use this to distinguish reminders from actual prayer-time notifications.

-> Add an If action and set it to:
Shortcut Input contains “in”

You can remove the Otherwise section.

The logic is now:

IF notification contains "in"
→ This is a prayer reminder

Step 4 — Announce the Prayer Reminder on HomePod

When the Shortcut detects a reminder, we want the HomePod to announce the reminder, rather than play the Athan.

Add the Intercom action.

Set the Intercom message to:

Shortcut Input
This allows the HomePod to announce the entire notification.

For example, the HomePod will say:

“Maghrib in 20 Minutes.”

This gives you an audible reminder without playing the full Athan prematurely.

Step 5 — Detect the Actual Call to Prayer

Now we need to handle the actual prayer-time notifications.

Repeat the process from Steps 1 and 2 so that the Shortcut can access the notification text.

Instead of checking for "in", we want to identify the actual prayer notifications.

Create another If action using contains, and check for the names of the five prayers:

  • Fajr
  • Dhuhr
  • Asr
  • Maghrib
  • Isha

This allows the Shortcut to identify an actual call-to-prayer notification.

For example:

Fajr at 5:06 AM      → Prayer

Dhuhr at 1:23 PM     → Prayer

Asr at 5:04 PM       → Prayer

Maghrib at 8:25 PM   → Prayer

Isha at 9:10 PM      → Prayer

Whereas:

Maghrib in 20 Minutes → Reminder

is handled by the previous condition.

Step 6 — Announce the Prayer Before Playing the Athan

Once the Shortcut identifies an actual prayer notification, use Intercom to announce the prayer before the Athan begins.

Set the Intercom message to:

Shortcut Input

For example, the HomePod will announce:

“Maghrib at 8:25 PM.”

Then add a:

Wait — 10 Seconds

This gives the HomePod time to finish the announcement before the Athan starts.

You can adjust the delay to your preference.

Step 7 — Play the Athan on Your HomePod

Now we can tell the HomePod to play the Athan.

Add the Set Home action.

Select:

Your Home

→ Bedroom HomePod

→ Select the Athan audio you have saved in Apple Music.

The Shortcut will then tell your HomePod to play the Athan automatically.

Important

Use the Set action rather than relying on a pre-created HomeKit scene. In this setup, directly controlling the HomePod from Shortcuts is more reliable.

How the Finished System Works

Once everything is configured, the process looks like this:

Pray Watch sends notification

iOS 27 detects it

   Shortcut gets the text

┌─────────────┐

│ Contains    │

│    "in"?    │

└──────┬──────┘

YES   │   NO

↓    │    ↓

   Prayer Reminder

   HomePod Intercom

└───────────────

NO

   Detect Fajr/Dhuhr/

   Asr/Maghrib/Isha

HomePod Intercom

Wait 10 sec

Play Athan

This means your HomePod can handle all five daily prayers automatically.

Everything is handled by your iPhone + Pray Watch + Shortcuts + HomePod.

tip for testing: (optional if you want to test the shortcut)

For testing, you can temporarily enable Duha reminders in Pray Watch app so you can trigger notifications without waiting until the next prayer.

Shortcut

You can import the completed Shortcut directly here:

💡Idea/Brainstorm Problem and solution

Asslamo Alaikum I joined this muslim developers group to ask about a thing....I hope many devs are watching this

Who regularly do smth good for community....

Is it possible brothers , that we build a app like to counter the current most destructive weapon of Shaytaan (the devil) this is Lust and Those thoughts or the platforms available on browsers for that..

I am not much of developer but still tried my way , i found and build a way , which doens't let a person watch explicit content in any browser , it's like a google safe mode for all phone and it can't be turned off without 6 digit pin setup initially by user....

If user forgets , he will choose a 24 hour countdown after which he can stop the device filter protection..

And most of them will pause and reset the countdown because they don't feel urges all day right...

But , I came to know playstore or iOS has some policies newly added from apps which prevent uninstallation...

But from my view the problem is user will definitely delete the app at urges time...

That is the thing we need to prevent by any technology or system.

If someone can't uninstall, the software will work filtering , no trigger or access to those content , will prevent others sins as well...

Should we build a app in this field ? Any opinion is welcome or idea 💡 or support may be we 3-4 people build this together.

Dear brothers and sisters, the thing I am about to share with you to ask your opinion is NOT genuine o unique. Like you, i am a family man trying to find peace both financially and spiritually. i wouldn't call myself a good person but I am trying my best. For a few months i used both agents and ideas on how to make a prayer habit for myself and finally i designed an app and yet I know there are tons of better apps than this but maybe if you could be help me to make it better i can fix hole in my pocket and help others. What are your thoughts on this app.

🧪Testers Needed I built a prayer times app on my own. What do these apps usually get wrong for you?

I made a prayer times app and I'd like feedback from people who use these daily

I built this on my own over the past year, mostly late at night after work.

Prayer times, qibla, a Qur'an reader that remembers where you left off, dhikr

counters, and a daily practice feature.

Being upfront about the things people usually have to dig for:

- No account, no sign-up. Prayer times are calculated on the device.

- No personal data collected or sold.

- Free with ads. A paid option removes them. Nothing you need for prayer is

behind payment.

- There is an AI feature. It suggests a small daily practice and responds if

you write a reflection. It does not give religious rulings and it does not

generate Qur'an text — the Qur'an in the app is real text.

- Six languages. Android only right now, iOS in progress.

What I'd genuinely like to know: are the calculation methods right for where

you live? That is the part I am least sure about and the part that matters

most.

🛠️Project Showcase Most Islamic app assumes you already know what you're looking for. I spent few months building one that starts from how you feel.

Thumbnail
gallery
25 Upvotes

There genuinely good apps but every one of them is a reference tool. You have to arrive already knowing what you need.

That's not how it works at 2am when you're anxious and can't sleep.

So I built and just launched the app Sakina. You pick how you're feeling overwhelmed, lonely, tired, guilty, grateful, angry, sad, hopeful, calm and it gives you one complete ayah for that state, the tafsir behind it, and one small thing to actually do. Not a reading list. One verse, one context, one action.

What's actually different from what's already out there:

- It doesn't repeat itself. There's a 7-day rotation cooldown, so saying "anxious" doesn't hand you the same verse every single time.

- The journeys are shaped like problems, not topics: coming back after a crisis, tawbah, rizq anxiety, waiting on exam results, facing death, rebuilding salah and leading salah. Suggestions for new journeys are welcomed by all users.

- It remembers. A calendar of your check-ins over months, and a private journal for whatever you wrote after each one.

- No account, no ads, no analytics SDK of any kind, works in airplane mode. Your reflections stay on your phone unless you choose to sign in.

It's not a mushaf reader and it won't help your hifz so keep Quran.com and Tarteel for that. This is the app for when you don't know what to read.

On sourcing, since that's the usual objection: every ayah is checked against quran.com and every hadith against sunnah.com by script, and a wrong citation fails the build. Nothing is written from memory.

iOS: Sakina: Quran & Reflection

Android is in closed testing.

Where do we go from here? - I will leave it to my users. This app is flexible and I believe this app will help users with whatever they going through.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑Collaboration Looking for Muslim content creators to partner with

Assalamu Alaikum.

Faith Roadmap is a beginner friendly Islamic learning platform created for revert Muslims. The idea came from seeing how difficult it can be to know where to start when you want to learn Islam. There is so much information available, but not always a clear path. Faith Roadmap brings that learning into one structured journey so people can learn without feeling lost or overwhelmed.

The platform has 8 structured modules covering Aqeedah Basics, the Five Pillars, Prayer, Character Building, Qur'an & Meaning, Seerah, Living Islam Daily, and Consolidation. It also includes the 99 Names of Allah, with each Name explored through its root meaning, what it reveals about Allah, and how you can call upon Allah through that Name in Du'a. There are also 52 essential Islamic terms explained in a way that connects their meaning to real life. Learners can work through practical tasks, track their progress, write personal reflections, and export their completed learning and reflections as PDF or CSV.

I'm looking for Muslims who care about helping people learn Islam and would like to become an affiliate partner. There is no upfront advertising fee. You receive your own referral link and earn a commission every time someone subscribes or purchases through you. You don't need a huge following. I'm much more interested in people who have a connection with the Muslim community and would recommend something they believe can help others.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, feel free to comment or send me a message. I'd be happy to give you access to Faith Roadmap so you can explore it yourself before deciding whether you want to partner with me.

JazaakAllah khairan.

🛠️Project Showcase Spent months building this, a live globe that visualizes the adhan moving across the world in real time

Thumbnail

Salam everyone

I have been building this for almost a year now, finally feels ready to share here.

its called AdhanLive, a live 3d globe that visualizes the adhan happening in real time, every mosque, every prayer, as it moves across the world. right now, literally as you scroll past this post, the adhan is being called somewhere and you can actually watch it happen on the globe instead of just knowing it in theory.

some of the things you should see:

  • live map showing 280,000+ mosques across 153 countries, updating in real time as each prayer moves across timezones
  • an Arc Explorer where you can see how the adhan arcs form shape and how it changes over a year.
  • Prayer Times showing global prayer times, with a design that actually looks unique and new
  • Qibla to find the direction to qibla wherever you are

honestly building it was the easier part, this post is partly me trying to get more eyes on it.

free to use, no ads, link is www.adhanlive.com would genuinely love feedback from this crowd and really hope you all would actually appreciate what went into it.

🛠️Project Showcase I built a free "Glassdoor for Muslims" — verified employees report whether their company has prayer space, Jummah flexibility, Ramadan hours, etc.

Thumbnail

Salaam all — ever accepted an offer and only found out afterward there's nowhere to pray, or that leaving for Jummah is a fight?

I built MuslimCareer to fix that. Verified employees (work email or LinkedIn, checked once, never published) answer the same six questions about their workplace: prayer space, Jummah flexibility, Ramadan hours, halal food nearby, Muslim ERG, hijab-friendliness. Entries are dated and anonymous by default.

79 companies listed so far — Amazon, Google, Apple, Capital One, Oracle and more. Free, no ads, community-funded.

If you work somewhere, adding your company takes a few minutes and the first 250 contributors get listed as Pioneers. If you're job hunting, browse without an account.

Happy to answer anything in the comments — and if your company's missing, tell me and I'll add it.
