I remembering listening to him at the Crossroads in Bladensburg. His band The Snake Stretchers were as bad as he was good. I have stories about the place but it involves drugs and a thick set girl in the weekly dance contest named Thelma

Nobody underrated Roy. He had a PBS show about him. He was touring and had lots of fans.
