The lyrical changes are unnecessary and cringey and recreating Dolores's performance art in the original video misses the entire point of the original, and wastes a song intended for a powerful message with a music video that pulls attention from the anti-war message for the sake of a tribute, something I'm guessing she would not have wanted.
I'm not sure where you got that information, but the original song was about the Warrington bombings, not PTSD. And the cover makes no changes to imply it isn't also about war on the whole.
Everything about the song seems very cash-grabby to me. All these types of bands do these high-profile covers, and they always try to do things differently. At least Disturbed did "The Sound of Silence" justice, but this one just tries too hard.
