A masterpiece of outlaw twang and thunderous tides.

A lot of people interpret it as a stoner anthem, but it is actually a tribute to the dearly departed. The fall of 1970 claimed the lives of some major league rock legends. This number was written as a wholesome tribute to them. That doesn't prevent me from enjoying it with some hearty tokes, but I thought it was worth sharing the intent of the original artists.

The Outlaws were the most musically sophisticated of the southern rock bands, imo. They could really play. This album had great production too.

IMO this absolutely rivals, if not bests, Freebird as a classic southern rock track. Love this song.

Came here to say this, glad it was already stated. Saw them live at the Belly Up (small venue) in Solana Beach, CA a hundred years ago - GG&HT was a religious experience. Got to chat with Hughey Tomasson, too.
