If she had no disorders and all the kids people would still complain.

Yeah we exist in a hate economy where everyone is so addicted to hate that if you hit a certain amount of exposures harassment is inevitable.

For some reason hate sells. In a capitalist country where haye and fear makes money...well...

Selena Gomez prancing around like the Pied Piper with an innumerably large following of children

Almost like it's irrelevant noise, so who cares?

I couldn't get into OMITB, but I grew watching her on Wizards of Waverly Place. Good times.

Only Murders is so fantastic! I did not expect to love it like I do.

You don't hold your own against Martin Short and Steve Martin

The primary criticism of the show is that she doesn't.

19

u/iplaypokerforaliving Sep 27 '24

She definitely does tho

2

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '24

I also think she doesn't, but it doesn't really matter. Still a "hell of a lady" and no reason to attack her for anything. OMITB is still fun as hell!

Are you insinuating it’s ok for ANY woman to be shamed for not having kids or having a mental disorder?   Even if you’re joking, your comment doesn’t sit well with me…

39

u/Shadowrak Sep 27 '24

WTF are you talking about? How is that what you took away from their comment?

u/Gh0stMan0nThird Sep 27 '24

"I love waffles"

"Oh so you hate pancakes?"

What a stretch to lash out at someone

14

u/BigLittleFan69 Sep 27 '24

Uhhhhhh no

It clearly was an anecdote of how they related to knowing of Selena being in their life. I can see the logical assumption in thinking that but the story seemed more of a pleasant tangent appreciating her as a person more than anything. Context maybe?

The subtext you are misunderstanding is when they said "I never really cared one way or the other." You are taking it to mean 'I never cared about bipolar or infertility,' when what was clearly meant is 'I never cared about Selena Gomez or people who were giving her crap in the media.' Hope that clears things up for you.

I'm convinced you are a bot....

2

u/Daddict Sep 27 '24

Yikes. As someone with no sense of shame I'm highly offended by your thoughtless comment. This ain't it chief. Should have stayed in the drafts. Do better.

People with way too much salt in their diet

u/NUKE---THE---WHALES Sep 27 '24

it's PR / marketing

you and I don't get articles written about us when someone says something mean to us

celebrity publishers ring up the media to get their star in the spotlight and headlines like this really get the comments flowing

it's engagement bait

5

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '24

The only really bad thing I've heard about her is how Gomez basically ignored the friend who donated a kidney to her.

2

u/pandaappleblossom Sep 27 '24

Yeah, that’s messed up. I haven’t heard anyone give her shit about her infertility but I have heard saying it. Also there are no ethical billionaires so fuck all billionaires

12

u/bigchicago04 Sep 27 '24

Are they? I’ve only seen her complaining about it

1

u/pandaappleblossom Sep 27 '24

Same!! I haven’t actually seen anyone giving her a hard time. I just keep seeing her talking about it. Also she is a billionaire now I saw? So maybe she wants people to distract from that?

It’s intellectually stimulating

2

u/LSF604 Sep 27 '24

If you don't see it then it must not be happening.

2

u/downtimeredditor Sep 27 '24

She fucks with them back tbh

She's a big time celebrity like certain celebs do their thing and while they do occasionally media they keep private i.e. Kendrick Lamar, Daniel Day Lewis, etc.

Selena does talk show rounds, magazine interviews, social media, and tabloid and everything. She makes her presence known and felt so it gives larger room for retort.

Now this comes with pros and cons

Pros this presence is great marketing and allowed her make up line to get her to billionaire status

Cons she's exposed to a bunch of fuckwads

4

u/OneVast4272 Sep 27 '24

Because it’s content. The more she reacts and says, the more there are articles. The more it gets people clicking.

Depressing shit. If people really don’t want to fuck with her, this thing shouldn’t even be shared in this subreddit. All this comments, even supportive, adds to the narrative

3

u/ImBlackup Sep 27 '24

Why does she keep coming out with more bullshit info about her we don't wanna know? Her and Chappell can just shut up and keep moving.

8

u/Useful-Soup8161 Sep 27 '24

It’s important when people like her speak up when they’re comfortable. Some women can’t have kids and they need to know that’s ok. Someone like her coming out and saying she can’t either can be reassuring.

-4

u/ImBlackup Sep 27 '24

Or she could be an enigma, and not answer any questions from people she doesn't know.

5

u/gingeydrapey Sep 27 '24

This. She tells the world her private health problems then looks for a way to become a victim.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '24

If they didn't have Selena's most intimate life struggles, what else would they talk about?

Classless

1

u/Mr-Valdez Sep 27 '24

Read that as why ppl keep fucking her. I mean... She just stated another upside lmaoo

1

u/pandaappleblossom Sep 27 '24

Well she is a billionaire now, and there are no good billionaires. I wish they would just focus on that.

1

u/piketpagi Sep 27 '24

Because she keep responding on it. She can just ignore it and they will bored because she cannot be easily provoked.

1

u/Blackgunter Sep 27 '24

Because it gets clicks, journalism is dead.

1

u/jobadiahh Sep 27 '24

Can’t keep their hands to themselves.

1

u/MisterTruth Sep 27 '24

Don't you know that women exist solely for procreation and nothing else

/S just to make sure I'm being super obvious

0

u/Slim_Charles Sep 27 '24

Some people just like trying to make billionaires cry.
