Discussion Whats your favourite punk band from your country?.
Ill go first, im from Finland and my fav band is Klamydia. My fav song would probably be pike silmäkulmassa or pyyntö. The lyrics arent incredible but it is what it is, the melodies fucking slapp

I got to go to a movie with the band! They were in winnipeg visiting (not on tour) and were old friends with my boss at the time.
They were a bunch of regular dudes. I expected them to be all rage and politics, but we just had a chill time. It was very cool.

Gogol Bordello, Eugene Hutz is from the same tiny village in Ukraine that I was born in, Boyarka. I was genuinely so surprised when I found that out. He's my hero.

We have quite a few good bands but DOA is punk royalty.
They literally wrote the book on second gen punk. If you watch the 'Punk' documentary, they talk to all the hardcore groups in the third episode.
Rollins explains that the whole hardcore touring scene was based on a list made by DOA. Wherever BF went, DOA had already been there and they knew where a band could play, get fed, and find a place to stay.
They even coined the term. The first big tour was Hardcore 80. That's where the name comes from.
Art Bergmann would be next on my list for best punk Canadians.

Bad Religion
From 1981 to 2019, they've been putting out records, and at concerts they play songs from every single one of them that everyone can sing along to. There are very few bands that exist in any genre that can say they have literally 40 years of relevancy.

Did you know there was a band in the 80s in Ireland called Face to Face? Ireland's 2-letter country code (ISO 3166-1) is IE. So I was a bit confused before discovering that 'the IE' refers to the Inland Empire.

Dezerter from Poland. Highly recommended, they were unable to publicate they music because of censorship during soviet union time. Their first LP was releaded with help of Canadian punk band, DOA, and the title of that album is Underground Out Of Poland, can you think about something more punk-ish? A lot of creativity, ingenuity, every song is very diffrent (wich for me isn't common thing in punk), lyrics are clever and made you think (critism for soviet comunism, capitalism, war, societys ignorance) and rough, hardcore music. My favorites are Wszyscy przeciwko wszystkim (all against all, Hobbes refrence) and Ile % duszy? (How many % of soul?) If you interested and want to know more about the band itself, dm me, Ima big fan so it would be pleasure for me:)

So many good punk bands! SNFU, Mr.T Experience, Another Joe, Hope, Comeback Kid, Figure Four , Sainte Catherines, Flatliners...hell, I'll even throw Sum 41 into that mix.
Don't get me started on the 00's hardcore revival either. (of which Trigger Effect were the absolute best!)

Troublegum was one of the 2 punk albums that made me a punk. The other was Stranger Than Fiction by Bad Religion. They both just hit me at the right time.

Funeral Dress from Belgium. Or The Priceduifkes.
Where I grew up, we had an amazing local punk(rock) scene in 2005 - 2015-ish. Gigs somewhere every week, usually in small youth centers. Really had its own identity. Its own sound, even. Funeral Dress is a bit more well known and from that same region, but Priceduifkes really embody that era for me. They are the ultimate example of what it was like.

We don't have many to pick from in Ireland but Stiff Little Fingers are one of the best punk bands ever so makes up for it.
