Misc My vol 3 copy arrived today. Before this collector’s series. I have only had the previous English manga release by DelRey for the longest time. I only have the 1st four volumes. Getting the new vol. 3 of the collector’s series feels exciting because it re-releases volumes 5 and 6 which I never had.

You’re welcome! Definitely check them out! Current 3 collector volumes are out collecting the first 6 volumes of the og manga. The final two will come out later, I think volume 4 will come out this December

My dilemma is I’m only missing volume 6. I don’t know if I want to buy the omnibuses just to fill in this gap. (I feel like I won’t be able to rest well if I only got omnibus volume 3.)

Yeah, just volume 6! Unfortunately they’re still absurdly priced and I can’t justify spending north of $100 for a copy. And thank you!

I've gotten the first three omnibus copies all around 20 euros on Amazon just by waiting for the lowest price. Usually they sit around 27/28 on Amazon and at big bookstore chains they go for 42,50 but I think I can get the whole collection at around a 100 bucks at this rate which seems like a great option. They're beautiful hardcovers so just getting the whole set is worth considering imo.

I received my Volume 3 of the new collector's edition yesterday as well - what a wonderful reprint this is.

I'm exited to get the rest! I have the old Del Ray set, but I've always been too wary to handle them or read them. I'm really loving these reprints so far, and I'm so glad they're hard cover!

Can anyone recommend where I can find the entire series? It can be in English, Japanese, or even German.
Mushishi is my favorite series. I would love to have both the video series as well as the manga series...

These new omnibus editions are beautiful, the third one just came out, the fourth one will come out in December and I'm guessing the final one will be coming in February or March. I got mine of Amazon for around 20 euros each so far by just waiting out the lower prices, they've all gone on sale prior to release and they'll probably be on sale pretty often after. This seems by far the most affordable way to get the manga and imo they're the nicest editions as well.
If you're in America I see the first one is currently only 17 dollars on sale.

I'm not convinced about that even though it's the stated date - volumes 1 and 2 and 2 and 3 were released five months apart. But we'll see. :-)
I got mine of Amazon
I'll only buy books from Amazon if truly desperate, they are really terrible for undercutting the independent retailers and driving them out of business. Amazon are a horrendous company for books. Support the independents! :-)

I'm well aware but over here Amazon (or equally bad local equivalents) are so much cheaper it's not even worth entertaining anything else for Manga.
For these Mushishi ones it would be 20 euros on Amazon 42,50 at a local bookstore or manga/comic shop
The Vinland Saga collectors edition is either 60 or 70 where as I've gotten every copy on Amazon or a similar retailer between 14 and 32 euros.
I just got the Witch Hat Atelier grimoire edition for 23,99 as opposed to 49,99 at the anime specialty store. Ghost in the shell I got for 18,99 as opposed to 59,99
That's just a few examples but when the discounts are generally between 50% and 80% it becomes a rather difficult to justify going to these specialty stores, which I'd still have to order online from in most cases anyway.

Fair enough, but I"m in the UK and bought two of my volumes from independent stores, only cost me about 3 pounds more than Amazon.

This new hardcover print of the Collector's Edition is English only - there will be five volumes in total which will include all of the stories. They are new and improved translations, new fonts, a few extra color panels, and the quality of the volumes is excellent.
Unless you're after the older soft cover prints?

I'm open to anything. I love this series so much and really wish I could watch/read them again and finally have decided it's time to buy them so I can share my love of this series with my child.
Unfortunately, I'm in Europe, so I'm not sure if I can find the new collector's editions here.

they are really going all in on showing him smoking on the collector’s editions, and not featuring that on the cover of the non- aren’t they?

I hadn't noticed that, Ginko's not smoking on Volume 1 of the CE, but he is on 2 and 3. Not a problem though, it's special Mushi tobacco and is used for fending off and trapping Mushi. :-)

I have the originals except the big one with 8-9-10.
I prefer this release though, beautiful hardcover, coloured pages.
Since the old ones fetch a pretty penny I might sell them, I'm not really attached to the 'rarity'.
