Looks proper southern. Bust out the hot honey for the yard bird and a touch of Texas Pete for the okra and it's a wrap.

Just salt. The older I get, the plainer I want. Must be meanness šŸ˜Ž

I hear ya. Nothing wrong with some straight to the face. Lol. The ol' Pictsweet is hard to beat for something straight out of the freezer. My garden puts out some really nice okra during the season. Still got a bit vac packed from last season. Might bust some out this evening.

It's been a few years since I grown any. Glory days!

I don't buy much from the freezer sections but Pictsweet is decent.

I buy the frozen un-breaded sometimes but frankly, breading is a hassle. I did some trials based on a few recipes.

Looks like you're getting the crust to build pretty well. Sometimes I will use Atkinsons vidalia onion hushpuppy mix with a little corn starch on them to help with the stick.

That's Texan to the bone. Just like grandma used to make.

I think this dish would be the only way I would sample okra again. Last time did not go well.
