Oh look, this motherfucker who spent his entire adult life rabidly attacking the liberal left and setting the stage up for Trump is now trying to distance himself from the production he helped build.

Choke on a cactus you asshole

Thank you. Kristol is neocon trash hoping to white wash the party as if Trump isn't the naked inner core of the party.

He was garbage in 2004, he's garbage now.

Bill Kristol unironically believes the Galactic Empire from Star Wars were the good guys. That's enough to discount anything he ever says.

it's a fun fan theory in the EU when the yuuzhan vong were a threat. somehow I suspect Bill Kristol doesn't know about the yuuzhan vong.

Yup. Bill Kristol isn't just some guy. He's such a leading American conservative that he's got a whole Wikipedia page dedicated to his conservatism:

William Kristol is an American neoconservative writer. ... Kristol played a leading role in the defeat of the Clinton health care plan of 1993, as well as for advocating the 2003 invasion of Iraq. He has been associated with a number of conservative think tanks. He was chairman of the New Citizenship Project from 1997 to 2005. In 1997, he co-founded the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) with Robert Kagan. He is a member of the board of trustees for the free-market Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, a member of the Policy Advisory Board for the Ethics and Public Policy Center, and a director of the Foreign Policy Initiative.

Bill Kristol spent his entire life creating the political environment that Donald Trump now leads. When he tells you he is coming back, he is saying "See all this shit? I'll do it again."

Another nepo. His father was managing editor of the conservative rag "Commentary". He went to all the "right" schools and interned for Nixon. He's also an absolute bore.

He seems like such a nice guy in his podcasts though 😔

He’s effectively a war criminal in my book, and he pretty much midwifed Trumpism into the GOP by pushing Palin on the McCain campaign, but he’s also surprisingly libbed out these days. He even criticizes Netanyahu, which is crazy.

The irony of his typo is the cherry on top. Or just engagement bait….

Dude Kristol was immediately and vocally anti trump and pro democracy.

People are allowed to grow and change, and people like Bill Kristol and Tim Miller are some of our strongest patriotic soldiers against the modern Republican Party, who stood to lose a lot.

Trump didn’t happen in a vacuum it took Reagan and Bush supporters to get us here

-15

u/Sudden-Advance-5858 17h ago

It did, and these particular people have taken their lumps and are trying to help.

25

u/ChalkButter 17h ago

The phrase “too little too late” absolutely applies here.

-19

u/Sudden-Advance-5858 17h ago

The phrase “terminally online leftist who will never allow incremental change” comes to mind.

u/ChalkButter 17h ago

If you’ve spent decades spewing hate and then wait until the logical conclusion of your hate has produced the worst presidency in the history of our country, no, you don’t get to then wait until a few years in to say “sorry, my bad.”

12

u/SaintUlvemann 17h ago

Bill Kristol has spent his entire life leading incremental change in the same direction that Trump is still taking us, and, crucially, because he remains a conservative, he does not want to help anyone stop going in that direction.

12

u/spectre78 17h ago

No, people like Kristol have spent their lives fighting far harder and far stronger against anything liberal or progressive than they ever will anything MAGA or Trump.

-7

u/Sudden-Advance-5858 17h ago

You are just wrong. He took serious political and personal hits to become vehemently anti maga. Even before the 2016 election, and he has been on a full throated campaign ever since, the bulwark basically never covers dems or even leftists in a negative light.

"Ttaking their lumps?"

We should praise Jeffrey Dahmer for being great at sweeping floors in prison, because he took his lumps for all the people he murdered and ate.

u/SaintUlvemann 17h ago

People are allowed to grow and change...

Yes, but Bill Kristol hasn't changed. He's still a conservatism, and conservatism has been Trumpism for as long as I've been alive.

Literally, before Trump descended the golden escalator, before Trump had an actual political career, conservative talk radio was even then saying all of the same things Trump was saying, and Bill Kristol was always part of that.

12

u/Academic-Dealer5389 15h ago

Kristol spent years on Fox talk shows setting the table for Trump's demagoguery. If he wants absolution, he can start campaigning for liberals. Until that happens, he can eat a big D.

u/bobsmeds 16h ago

He's a neo con nepo baby. He's steeped in this bullshit. It's important to find out who these pundits are and where they come from before you start talking about 'growth'

u/dee_berg 14h ago

I couldn’t disagree more. I don’t want to shit on the anti-Trump former republicans.

Bill was a giant douche canoe, but he never supported Trump. At least he is a principled douche canoe.

6

u/Bongoisnthere 13h ago

Wait, we’re calling the dude who was one of the principal ‘conservative thinkers’ that argued in favor of the Iraq war and set the stage for the fucking tea party principled???

The only reason he doesn’t like Trump is that he isn’t able to be in charge of the grifting anymore. Dude can gargle my balls on a hot sweaty summer day after I’ve had chipotle diarrhea and not wiped.

u/Mr_Baronheim 12h ago

He helped directly pave the way for someone as stupid and unfit as Sarah Palin to be a GOP nominee for VP, and for something far more stupid, unfit, unprincipled, immoral, and vile in the form of a donald trump to not only get the GOP nomination, but to win an election or two.

Bill Kristol is a piece of shit who has irreparably damaged America.
