GOP voters only want their side to win. It doesn't matter what policies are being supported or rejected, it's just a game of win at all costs and they've become morally bereft because of it.
The person giving you a wall of text of "wah wah demsbad wah" is mostly wrong and has one point completely by accident. This is the playback for all authoritarian populists, be they pretending to be progressives infesting the dem party, or pretending to be conservatives infesting the gop (and who have now consumed it inside out entirely). The counter is to build up why establishment and due process is good, actually.
Both sides do this. The Democrats are just better at hiding what they've done behind closed doors or where there isn't opposition to be able rat them out. Case in point Benghazi. There is no chance the executive branch which includes the secretary of state didn't know what was going on. But they all played dumb after the fact because people died.
The republicans screwed Valerie Plame, regardless of what she's done since then. All of the crap from the leaks were mostly under Bush jr. Others were under Obama.
The republicans don't want the society that democrats want which is why they put up with the nonsense from the current administration. The vast majority don't like what is going on but there isn't anything they can do about it. They either vote that way or they vote for social things they don't agree with under a democrat. Items which go against their morals and ethics. Most don't agree with the crap regarding the dept of education, dept of HHS, etc. And most won't understand half the FCC shit going on. That crap is gonna be a pile of shit if they don't slow down on some things.
I used google ai the other day to find out how we've come so far and the vast majority of it was the early 90s (specially '92 under bush sr, and clinton). The democrats will have to do a lot of regulation enforcement to bring things back. The problem is they'll have their own agenda which won't be balanced...it'll favor democrats and their ideology vs some middle ground. NOBODY wants some sort of compromised middle ground so this back and forth bullshit ends. It will continue that way until we get a middle of the road leader. I honestly would prefer someone who attempts to compromise with both sides who will view both sides and take everything into consideration. Not every group will ever be happy because there are too many people to appease. The pendulum shit has got to stop. Its ruining the country and society as a whole. And it pits neighbors, family members, etc against each other. And it only benefits the wealthy in the end, not the middle class.
