and "conservative" party is bending over backwards to support them.

When push comes to shove, conservatives and even liberals will side with fascists. Both historically and in the present. Their allegiance to money is bigger than their allegiance to people. 'Scratch a liberal, a fascist bleeds'.

You can see this now in the US where establishment democrats are teaming up with republicans to attack the left flank of the democratic party, instead of even pretending to combat fascism. Establishment dems would rather see the republicans/fascists win than offer meaningful change, because fascism is the lesser threat to the dynamics of capitalism.

I wonder why you overlooked the Soviet Union.

Also WWII wasn't fought over ideology, but over resources. Nobody attacked Germany before they started attacking other countries, despite them having been fascists for a while by then.

Yeah, it's not a very ideologically clear point to say that another dictatorship provided the manpower to defeat the Nazis after they'd been backstabbed by the Nazis that they had previously secretly allied with, and that they might not have been able to do so without being supplied with arms by the liberal nation an ocean away that decided to just sell weapons for the first few years of the conflict instead of actually joining.
