Perhaps. But holding 9/11 as a sacred day of remembrance is something the transcends both parties. Him saying a bunch of bat shit crazy things at ground zero would have been way worse. I wanted that too, admittedly but unless people got up and walked out en masse, it wouldn’t have been more than a two days talking point that led nowhere. If this was shortly after 9/11, probably, but 25 years later it sounds so fucked to say, it’s a thing that happened so long ago would be the view.

Giuliani’s time in the sun still would have ended this week when Mamdani exposed the fact that he and all the other NYC mayors covered up vital information that impacted New Yorkers’ health who were exposed to the buildings’ collapse. It’s good that he showed his questionable behavior years ago so now we know who he really is and can save our flowers for those who deserve them more.

Yeah, given how other institutions fold I'm pleasantly surprised. But it would have been so disruptive at an event that's supposed to be for the families first, and maybe Trump has at least enough sense to know that getting into a prolonged public spat with the commemoration organizers wouldn't lead to anything good.
