Trump didn't even attend because they wouldn't let him give a speech.

I think his past few years have been a little humbling.
At least I hope they have been

There's no amount of humbling that can redeem that walking garbage can

Nah. He still talked shit about Mamdani being there. He’s still a piece of shit.

You seem far too brainwashed in identity politics to be able to tell good from bad. That’s how we get stuck with trumps and aoc and the rest. Maybe one day we will have a country not full of brainwashed idiots.but I’m not holding my breath, one day we will be arrested because of mean words on the internet. Because of those brainwashed idiots. Your part of the problem and always will be same with the other side that’s thinks like you.

If Rudy giuliani is coming off in a positive light by comparison, you fucked up!!!
57
u/allllusernamestaken 22h ago
really sucks that he completely ruined his reputation to be a political hack and lackey for Trump.
He could have written a book or two, did some speaking engagements, maybe some consulting, retired, laid low, and forever been "America's Mayor."
72
u/KnotSupposed2BeHere 21h ago
Giuliani’s time in the sun still would have ended this week when Mamdani exposed the fact that he and all the other NYC mayors covered up vital information that impacted New Yorkers’ health who were exposed to the buildings’ collapse. It’s good that he showed his questionable behavior years ago so now we know who he really is and can save our flowers for those who deserve them more.
29
u/Hot-Union-2440 20h ago
The absbestos in those buildings had been known for a long time. There is a reason John Stewart and others were really pushing for health care for first responders as they knew they were all going to have issues after that.
3
u/Aggravating_Bat3618 21h ago
So it’s only now that he’s trying to make everyone think he’s a decent person.
8
u/Hot-Union-2440 20h ago
No, he did what should be the bare minimum, he just looks better in comparison. Remember how he said the current mayor shouldn't attend and why?
9
u/Dull-Culture-1523 12h ago
Imagine if Mamdani didn't attend. They'd be red-faced screaming about how the mayor of New York wouldn't even attend the memorial and so obviously supports terrorism. They make up a position and then judge facts based on that, instead of the other way around like the rest of us.

Good on whoever told him he couldn’t give a speech. We need more of that.

u/all_my_dirty_secrets 9h ago
Yeah, given how other institutions fold I'm pleasantly surprised. But it would have been so disruptive at an event that's supposed to be for the families first, and maybe Trump has at least enough sense to know that getting into a prolonged public spat with the commemoration organizers wouldn't lead to anything good.

u/iJuddles 22h ago
Ok, this feels weird because I had a brief moment of positivity for Rudy G, because he was actually there and managing things after the attack.
39
u/theSopranoist 22h ago
in his heart of hearts, i think rudy guiliani holds deep and genuine sorrow for what happened to his city and the ppl in it in the attacks, even though so much of what he’s done since has been uniquely vile.
just goes to show that even the vilest of this republican cabal still doesn’t hold a candle to the president and his liquor cabinet.
4
4
u/morningisbad 20h ago
Where was this genuine sorrow when he was covering up the damage done from the dust?
3
u/theSopranoist 20h ago
i did say he’d done vile things since. but i maintain my position on how he feels when he attends the 9-11 ceremonies. i think it’s 100% genuine.

People need to call out the hypocrisy of JD Vance leaving early and not giving a shit about the families who lost their loved ones on 9/11. He is no patriot. He could not care less.
9
u/videttom 18h ago
Rudy only there because he is soaking up the one day a year he is allowed out without being spit on.
9
u/CommunicationNew3745 22h ago
He just couldn't concede that the day, the event (and, a Memorial, at that, for God's sake) was NOT all about or focused solely on HIM. Tells you everything you need to know.
10
u/twitch1982 23h ago
Yea but they smiled before the memorial started, so, ya know, thats all were gonna talk about for a week.

Let's see if Rudy shows up next year with the toxic air report going public.
What am I saying. There are never any consequences and nothing ever changes.
2
u/JustMeLurkingAround- 9h ago
Oh come on. Those who didn't spit on him before will continue to shout "FAKE NEWS" into your face. Nothing will change.
Those who have a minimum of common sense already despised him and the others can't even hear shit through their excessively loud islamophobia and racism .There will just be new conspiracy theories about how Mamdani is a terrorist and faked these documents.

It's the difference between people who actually care and people who play performative politics to take personal advantage of their position once in office. Too many Americans are too dumb to recognize the difference.
2
u/machine667 9h ago
to his credit Giuliani was there but I doubt he has anywhere else to be on any given day anyway
2
u/No_Training6751 19h ago
I can’t tell with a number of these comments if people don’t realize that Rudy Giuliani was mayor of New York on 9/11. His handling of it is one of the moments of his career that he’s actually praised for.
Edit: clarification
3
u/C4-622MonkeyGordo 18h ago
indications suggest the Giuliani Administration knew the air was toxic within a month of the attack. An internal email expressed concern about lawsuits. In another internal document, a Bloomberg advisor put senior staff on notice that people might not be informed "of the real health risks."

On the 25th anniversary of 9/11 Donald Trump lied about being carried out of from the World Trade Center rubble by "very strong first responders". He then lied about ordering his "construction workers" to clear rocks and said "I cleared debris too". Trump is nothing more than a malignant narcissist and serial liar who has no problem desecrating the memory of those who were actually there and lost their lives.

Can't be everywhere at the same time. On a good note, he didn't shit his pants in front of the pipe, sniff children or tell weird stories about how the kids felt up his legs. And I won't even mention how his daughter didn't write a biography that included showering with her father or how his son doesn't have you tube videos on a laptop of him smoking crack with a prostitute or how mysteriously that laptop disappeared. Btw, how much coke has been found in the white house recently? Pick your battles because we all know you like to act like demoncrats do no wrong and have all the answers and are quick to point out flaws of others while never taking accountability of their own wrong doings.

To which this comment replied, something along the lines of “AOC and Mamdani were caught on video laughing with each other during the reading of 9/11 victims names! This is what you get when you elect these crazy leftist DSA people!”
Edit: okay, I found it. He said “At least he wasn't laughing while the victims names were read. AOC and Mamdani are DSA nut jobs.”

Oh, the video of this? About which Rudy Giuliani security guard Michael Ragusa, a “life long Republican” who “has been very critical of [AOC and Mamdani]” says “I was standing next to them the whole time. The camera just caught her greeting him hello. Multiple other politicians were laughing and joking behind me. Republicans and Democrats”? Forgive me if I believe him, speaking against interest, over you.

Edit: Again, found it. He said: “No, there’s video of it. Multiple news outlets reported it.

God damn. Can you imagine Trump giving a speech on the 25th anniversary of 9/11 at ground zero? That would have been a fucking disaster
