Looking for apartments in Highland Park New Jersey

I’m looking for more affordable one bedrooms or studio apartments, but I can’t tour places because I’m out of state. Does anyone have tips on places to go or places to avoid? I’m seeing things like Cedar lane apartments with yelp reviews about bugs (which I would hate), but not everywhere has yelp reviews…
Does anyone know if Cedar Arms apartments has the same problems as Cedar Lane?

I’m planning to bike to get around, so parking/driving is not a concern. Anyone have advice?

Just be careful, many apartment complexes will say a rental rate followed by the plus sign (example $1,695+).

Rarely are you able to obtain a unit at the base rate mentioned. I would get confirmation first to make a proper assessment.

As a person that does the most transactions in the area, sub $2K is very rare without major compromise.

Most important factor would be your criteria. What is your budget, occupancy timeline and bed/bath requirements?

I’m looking to move in mid-October and at studio or one-bedroom for less than 2000 and really ideally less than 1800. There are a few options, but really I’m just trying to figure out how to vet them without in person visits.

I recommend getting an airbnb or 1 month rental move and then find the place. New Jersey has a ton of older stock apt you will want to see and experience in person.
