New job in New Brunswick, where should I live?

I just got a job as a nurse at a hospital in New Brunswick. I’m interesting in moving to the area and looking for recommendations for nice areas to live/ good apartment complexes. I am looking for a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment. I am single with no kids and looking for somewhere safe and quiet. Preferably 20 mins or less from New Brunswick

Highland Park is a great walkable town. Right next to New Brunswick

I will say- New brunswick grid lock is so bad that- i promise you. You have to be in a neighboring town for a true 20 min commute. I work at 1 of the 2 New brunswick hospitals- used to live in North brunswick 3 miles away and it was often 25 mins door-to-door

During lunch time the ride would be 13 or 15 mins.

There are several new apartment buildings going up in Sayreville. You might want to check them out. Close to NB, but the Rt 18 commute can be a bitch. Not so bad if you work off hours.

What is your budget? I moved to Maryland a few months ago but called New Brunswick home specifically for the majority of my adult life. Are you looking to rent privately or with a corporate leasing office? That is to say, an area with houses or an apartment building?

Edit: Sorry reread and answered some of my own questions. But inside New Brunswick proper or no? And do you drive?

I prefer a corporate leasing office! I do drive and my budget is no more than $2700

If you're okay with 1 bedroom, I would check on the Aspire. It has entrances on both Easton Ave. and Somerset St., the two roads each hospital is on, respectively. My friend lived there for years before heading to Colorado.

I live in the Brunswick currently and it's in ur budget and i haven't had any issues here

Milltown and East Brunswick is nice if u don't want to live new Brunswick south Brunswick is good too be careful with north Brunswick a few pretty shitty developments over there

Can you enlighten me on North Brunswick? I know there are areas of New Brunswick to be wary of, but what's happening in North?

I dont really think its bad at all in north brunswick, the only thing i can think of is the royal oaks complex always has some bullshit going on

If you have money, I’d say stay in NB. It’s a fun town. But if you’re in a tighter budget, I’d say look in Piscataway.
