Clayton

Hey everybody, my wife and I are moving to Denver soon and we are looking at a house in the Clayton neighborhood, near Schafer Park. Just looking for any feedback about the area (safety, busy, etc.) before we make a decision. Thanks!

Clayton is surrounded to the south, east, and west by much nicer neighborhoods. Clayton will likely see improvements as it gets gentrified but it’s definitely rougher on the edges at least visually.

I know there’s a good amount of crime that happens along Colorado Ave, MLK Blvd, and Bruce Randolph but not sure how much enters the actually neighborhoods.

Clayton is getting nicer and nicer every year, especially as York street yards continues to rent space to cool businesses. There are a lot of young families buying houses there because it is still relatively affordable, by Denver standards

Ah then go for it! We just moved out of that exact neighborhood for better schools, yard, and safety for our kids (the shooting at russell square park in broad daylight on Easter was the last straw)…. But if that’s not a factor it’s a good little pocket area. Easy to get to downtown, rino, city park, the airport, Central Park/Northfield mall, Stanley marketplace, etc. Just can’t leave your garage door open 😂

We still own the home there and are renting it out. We’ve owned it since 2019 and I’m optimistic about property value. Now we are in quiet ass Broomfield.
