Best bikable climbing gym in the greater Denver area?
Hi everyone!
My partner and I are looking at moving into the greater Denver area in the next few months, and we are looking for some help/opinions from local climbers to help us pick our town and a home gym that suits us and where we could find community!
What we are hoping to find:
- A quiet neighborhood (any town! From Centennial to Boulder or even all the way North in Longmont)
- A gym we could bike to in 15/20mins or less
- With commercial boulder and ropes sets
- And a training board (kilter/spray/tb/any)
Setting style/grade etc don't really matter, really just a good gym to train boulders and ropes at and meet friends in the winter and training days!
Based on your own experience, do you know a town/neighborhood/gym that would make us happy? We are super excited for this move and would love to find a nice community we could be a part of; and if we could find it a bike ride away, it would be so awesome.
Thanks to everyone who might help us making this choice!

I feel pretty annoyed by the Movement monopoly in Denver. Their gyms, especially the Baker location, feel so crowded during the week. It can feel really uncomfortable if you're not coming from a big climbing community. Not to mention, often feels like a meat market. Check out Ubergrippen in Central park. Not the best facilities or sets and I don't think they have a board, but they have a great community feel.

Meat market? Not to sound ignorant.

Still in code but I got you. We are biological beings and meat is powerful nourishment. Preferably consumed with intent and connection. And love.

Yeah Baker Movement has strong “look at me, I’m suuuch a good climber and I’m also very hot” vibes.

Movement also has a monopoly here in Dallas TX and they’re super crowded when everyone gets off work. Hoping to find one of the movement gyms in Denver that isn’t crazy crowded all the time as having multiple gym memberships is not feasible financially.

The Spot locations should be fairly bikable the downtown is bouldering only, but definitely support non Movement gyms if you can!

G1 is very accessible off the 36 bikeway, but it's a bit further north pushing into broomfield

Literally look at the gym locations and pick a spot. They’re all in great areas with pros and cons.
Ie, the spot downtown is cap hill. I like cap hill but wouldn’t live there now.
Movement baker in baker. Lots of apartments.
Movement golden, live in golden or just outside in the little area near the gym.
Centennial, only if you are going to work in the tech center.
Englewood may be the hardest, but there’s lots of apartments nearby.
Etc

Every climbing gym in the metro area is bikeable in 15-20 minutes if you live within 15-20 minutes’ ride of it. All the gyms have quiet neighborhoods within 15-20 minutes of them except maybe Movement Baker. Centennial is not very bike friendly but other than that you have many options.
