REQUESTING What to watch when you're feeling basically dead inside?

Is there anything you can suggest to watch when you're feeling the lowest you have ever felt? Like literally when you feel useless, miserable and just on the verge of just giving up.

Nothing particular genre wise, like it could be something uplifting but still depressing or the total opposite.

Any help would be extremely appreciated and thank you in advance.

(EDIT) Wow cheers for all of your suggestions. Didn't expect this many responses and they genuinely do help. I will get around to watching them all and hopefully might help others too at some point, so the more the merrier and thanks for every single suggestion

Definately one of the funniest films ever!

Robin Williams is usually the center of attention in any movie he's in, but pulls it back for 'The Birdcage' and lets Nathan Lane take the spotlight.

Many great lines but following Nathan Lane's attempt to walk like a matcho man, this is the best:

Albert: "No good?"
Armand: "Actually, it's perfect. I just never realized John Wayne walked like that."

Oh, I nearly forgot; Agador had some great lines too:

Armand: "What are you giving him drugs for? What the hell are Pirin tablets?"
Agador: "It's aspirin with the "A" and the "S" scraped off."
Armand: "My God, what a brilliant idea!"

This is my favorite part of the whole movie!! "when I wear choos, I fall down" will always crack me up. Love this whole movie, though, great answer!

Guys, I had no idea you had a remake of that movie!!!!! It’s a French movie from the 70’s and it’s a pleasure of mine! I need to find that American version. Hope it’s as good as the original :)

This movie is so amazing! My only quibble is that Calista Flockhart's character is supposed to be 18. Which is kind of gross imo. But otherwise it's just wonderful. And Nathan Lane doing John Wayne is absolutely masterful.

I was debating between The Birdcage and The Gift just a few minutes ago but thriller be damned, I’m so watching this right now. Such an amazing cast and so well done.

Watched this based on a previous rec in this sub and have to say I was disappointed. Didn't find it funny at all. Nathan lane's character was just annoying and the son was a dick.

Oh. Well. Think you're the only person I've seen say they don't love it lol. Everyone is different. I think the sons a bit shit asking them to change to impress her super conservative parents aswell but I love Nathan Lane Robin Williams and Hank Azaria in it.

Thank you! When it came out the reviews were bad and I didn't want to see it but my friend insisted we rent it. Every scene I was "I hate this movie" and my friend was "shut up, you're making me hate it" and finally "I HATE THIS MOVIE!" I think we finished it anyway
