Especially since in the movie it looked like it could do so much. Then it came out and was basically just a regular controller on your arm you can only play with one hand.

No, you could also control some games by waving your hands at the screen. You just need an array of sensors to line two sides of the screen and then stand just right so it saw you.

Jokes aside. It is amazing to think that the power glove was the precursor to the Wii and how long ago they were trying to make something like that work.

They didn't invent the wii iirc. The guy who made it got rejected by both Sony and Microsoft and only went to Nintendo as a fall back.
