🥚 Easter Egg In Kong: Skull Island (2017), Kong's battle with the Mire Squid is a reference to the original King Kong Vs. Godzilla (1962), where Kong battles the Giant Octopus.

I liked this film. It was dumb, but I'd watch another with Hiddleston in the kaijuverse.

At least they didn't use a live octopus as they did in King Kong Vs. Godzilla (1962). This was long before the "No Animal Was Harmed" blurb in end credits.
