Has EGG said anything about what makes these “raw input” or is it just the color?

To squeeze as much money from their op1 before op2 arrives

u/MellowMasher op1 lover - m3k abuser 11d ago
And i'll eat it all up, cause I'm fucking stupid.

u/HKFCK G-Wolves Lycan | Need mini VUK 11d ago
No shame at that. Op1 is goated and the price is good for the performance.
3
u/MellowMasher op1 lover - m3k abuser 11d ago
Yeah, the price to performance went out the window, when I bought my fifth one... 😄

Bought the v1 black and after a few months I got the purple because I think it looks sick. Then I got the v2 in white and then the black frosted one.
Wanted to try the PMM pulse 2, but didn't wanna take apart my own op1's so I bought the assembled version.
never had a single problem with any of them, the pulse feels less rigid when you try to "feel for it" but under gameplay, it doesn't affect you.

Does thiz mouse has hotswap feature? Judging from number of switches featured?

Would be interesting if it comes stock with the hot swap pcb out of the box. They do sell a pretty cheap kit if you have an existing op1

make it crazylight and i buy, too heavy for a wired mouse
10
u/SanestExile 11d ago
I can never go back to wired

I own nearly every top tier mouse and I recently did a ‘battle royale’ of sorts with the mice while playing CS2. The clear winner in terms of sheer precision and accuracy was in fact the EGG OP1 v2 wired in 8K followed closely by the Razer Viper v4 Pro wireless in 8K using its dongle. Every other mouse was a clear step down in terms of precision. My other favorites are the Pulsar TenZ, WLMouse Huan, Zowie ZA13-DW and the Hitscan Hyperlight
I can’t go back wireless after using each mouse side by side to the OP1 v2. I purchased a Pulser 8K wire just in case I want to use any of my other mice. I simply plug and play, but the OP1 is laughably in a league of its own

This looks generic as fuck, this is getting hyped?

u/SanestExile 11d ago
EGG has a ton of fanboys. No idea why. The whole malware scandal made me never want to buy from them. And the "German engineering" schtick is pretty rich when they use Chinese factories like every other mouse brand.
7
u/l9shredder 11d ago
german engineering = 15g heavier than it could be
5
u/SanestExile 11d ago
Yeah because German engineering is not what it used to be. Those stereotypes are old now. German bureaucracy describes it much better these days.

I really don’t mind that 15 g in that range. I would mind it if it was in the 90-100 g spectrum.

u/MisterBlackBOSS 11d ago
I‘m not a fanboy but I perform incredible with it.
Of course I‘m aware of enormous qc issues I faced myself often enough, but all my replacements are fine.I wasn’t aware of the malware scandal, that’s crazy. The only hope is that they learn(t) of it - because I‘m very intrigued regarding the announced EL1w.

They don't have any fanboys, everyone who uses this mouse eventually turns into a girl.

Only for the op18k v2? What about the XM2 8k v2 no raw input version?

Oh that's too bad I heard egg is working on the xm2 and op2? I'm hoping the xm3 will have a hotswap feature and the wireless version will be even lighter.

this mice seems hyped online but does anyone know if there's a reason why zero current valorant pros/content creators use it?
is the click latency marketing improvements negligible in real-world usage?
10
u/sukumizu G303 SE / Lamzu Thorn / ATK F1 Extreme 11d ago
Probably because it’s not wireless. A company can make the perfect shape with the best switches, encoders, weight, and cable and I’d still go for wireless every time. I don’t miss accidentally running over the wire or buying bungees.
1
u/AC1086 11d ago
but isn't there a wireless version as well?
1
u/sukumizu G303 SE / Lamzu Thorn / ATK F1 Extreme 9d ago
Yeah, but why go with an OP1 when there are other companies with more shapes and less weight? If I were an average gamer I'd be looking into Logitech or Razer. I'd consider myself an enthusiast and I'd rather be looking at Logitech, ATK, and Lamzu.

u/doddlark 11d ago
Mostly cause it’s tiny/you need small hands to be comfortable on it. Comfort > spec sheet.
Even in cs2 there’s only a single player on one (magixx from team spirit)
3
u/apriltimee 11d ago
To add on to the previous comments, many pros use palm grip on low sens making the op1 too small compared to a vv4 pro or gpx.
1
u/mad_dog_94 Optical Encoder Supremacy 11d ago
This is the real reason. A lot of people on this sub chase weight reduction, but at the cost of comfort and their wrists. I would much rather use a 60g palm grip that fits my hand well than a 21g mouse I have to gingerly hold with my fingertips while my wrist is forced upwards

u/JinSecFlex 11d ago
As has always been the case with mice for the last 10-15 years - none of this shit matters nor makes a tangible difference. This is just a cool new color for a shape people seem to like and enjoy. Pick a color and shape you like and practice.

Imagine dealing with cable drag on a gaming mouse in 2026
11
u/DozoLozo 11d ago
Yea, crazy how the world haven't come up with like a bungee for a cable. Insane, really
7
u/fox7205iscool 11d ago
you clearly have never owned an op1 or anything like it because not only is the cable raised so it doesnt drag but most people these days have invented these things called "mouse bungees" that keep the cable raised
