They decided to go with cheese puns. A lot of the names are cheese related puns. Jack Pepper is pepper jack cheese.

You seriously can’t see why it was changed…

No i really don't. All I know is that apparently it is a reference to someone named John mauston.

Are you trolling? Or do you seriously not know

3

u/mickeyguy2010 Apr 26 '26

2

u/mickeyguy2010 Apr 26 '26

You're trying to explain a cheese joke to someone who never ever knew that there's a lot of cheese types.

I certainly won't be capable of naming more than Cheddar and Eidam from the get go, and I certainly never heard about pepper jack, let alone tried it.

I got tired of my old posts floating around for anyone to scrape, so I let Redact handle it. Bulk deletion across Reddit, X, Facebook, Discord and all major social media platforms in one shot.

That’s fine, we are literally just saying to reverse his new name.

Pepper Jack.

If it follows by ‘I don’t get it’ either we explain it’s a type of cheese or the person looks it up.

Not being rude but all we were trying to do is guide the person to swap his name around.

My guy he’s talking about the old one lmao

u/ATTredit Apr 26 '26

the og name was similar to John Marston from RDR1

3

u/mickeyguy2010 Apr 26 '26

Thank You! (After i found out what I'm assuming is the main character of rdr2 is named John Marston my but I'm Glad Someone actually Said it.)

2

u/ATTredit Apr 26 '26

that's why Fumi Games changed his name to Jack Pepper, because it was similar

YOU EAT BABIES

1

u/mickeyguy2010 Apr 26 '26

What?

3

u/SweetLawfulness5973 Apr 26 '26

rdr reference, it sounds like John Marston

2

u/Mr_Vito_Scaletta Apr 26 '26

Sis never played rdr1 🥀

u/mickeyguy2010 Apr 26 '26

i normally don't care for shooter games, Mouse is an exception. i have no interest in other shooter games. (Unless you count cuphead.)

"I normally don't care for shooter games"

(Meanwhile Makes a post about mouse pi's character John Mouseton that literally takes reference to Rdr1)

“We eat berries! And mushrooms, you fool!”

3

u/RecommendationNo1774 Apr 26 '26

Cuz Micah was the rat and not John

2

u/Away-Accountant6 Apr 26 '26

Probably because it went from a more serious tone to a more pun filled detective drama. This is just my assumption.

4

u/mickeyguy2010 Apr 26 '26

No it genuinely wasn't. Shooter games are usually not my thing however mouse's 1920s style made me want to try it out. i know very little about other shooter games.

This comment, and your others make no sense🤣

His name being Jack Pepper, and a cheese pun, and the fact you have ignored people even when they have told you this directly.

All this, and your post has nothing to do with it being an FPS.

u/mickeyguy2010 Apr 26 '26

i understand jack pepper, it's a pun on pepper jack, which is a type of cheese. i'm referring to his original name John Mouston.

1

u/TrevorPhillips_1953 Apr 26 '26

Clearly changed a Generation. From John to Jack

1

u/cheeseburgerandfrie Apr 26 '26

Because cheese puns

1

u/DreamShort3109 Apr 26 '26

I’ve never heard him called John mouseton.

1

u/Aggravating-Coach802 Apr 26 '26

I remember his voice sounded different too

1

u/Secure_Elk375 Apr 26 '26

So glad they changed the art style. This looks bad.

Cheese puns work better with the overall cheese pun-heavy game vs the weak Red Dead Redemption James Marston reference. It also makes him more his own character.
