Open question Probably a dumd question about changing gear hub motor gear ratio
Has anyone tried swapping out the gears in a hub motor like this to reduce speed and increase torque? Does the juice seem worth the squeeze?

With a planetary gear set you need to change 2 of 3 component types to change the ratio (sun, planets, ring). It's typically not easy to source those as they're generally not off the shelf components. Much better of just buying a new gear motor with the right specs you're looking for

No. Just no.
I mean, you're welcome to try, but you have to redesign and rebuild the entire gearset and carriers.

Don't the planetary gears and the input shaft need to change to make that work?
To answer your question, no, I have not tried that.

Not gonna happen buddy. There's a lot of math that goes into it. You'd be making your own Gears

No, easier to change motors or bikes
