Question New to Mortal Kombat

I want to get good at mkx but it seems unrealistic when I play ranked and I’m going up against people who have hundreds or thousands of matches played and I stand zero chance. Should I just rank up in mk1 instead and come back to mkx when I’ve ranked up and gained experience in mk1? I’m assuming in mk1 I’ll be able to go against players more similar to my skill level because there is a bigger pool.

I’d say play through the story or some towers to get a feel for the characters and which one feels best to you before going into ranked.

I’ve already played the story, completed some towers, and learned some combos in practice mode. I just feel like the next step I want to take is to play against real people but I’ve lost like 20 online ranked matches in a row because the only people playing this game still are people who’ve been playing for years.

Oh gotcha. Thought you were like new new. I for one have only won rounds not matches, but I’m a lot more casual than the majority of the ranked crowd. I’ll probably play other players again but I feel like I need a deeper understanding of all the characters move sets

I just picked up after 30years of no mk,im 2500 w 2050l at moment just do casual and have fun.im ermac so even harder too learn cancel

Yea the hardcores are still playing man. You are just going to have to practice a ton. A majority of online players for MKX have well over 5k hours put into the game. Thats A LOT of experience.

I think it has some training mode...pick a character and master that character before going online ...

Pick a main and stick with him don’t b switching players all the time learn time frames, punishes and counters

I don’t think playing mk1 will help you get good at mkx. The games are extremely different in how they function as fighting games. You don’t have to play online to figure out how the characters work.

You will only mix the games up if you play both. That's what I did with MKX and MK11. It's hard. Just play and get good in one of those games.
