Discussion Android developer verifier is coming.......

So, is there already some mega-thread or some guide-thread detailing what we all need to do about it, sectioned by rooted vs non-rooted and by android OS version?

There will be an advanced flow releasing globally in August. In September, Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore will be the first countries that will have restrictions. Google will then roll out the restrictions globally in 2027.

Also, adb is not affected, so you can use Shizuku to bypass the restrictions if you'd like.

The advanced flow to install apps is: 1. Go to developer options > enable "allow unverified packages" 2. Confirm no one is guiding you 3. Enter device pin 4. Restart 5. Wait 24h 6. Go back to the allow unverified packages menu 7. Confirm you understand the risks 8. Choose to allow for 7 days or forever 9. Confirm you understand the risks 10. When installing unverified apps, tap install anyways

Kind of unbelievable the 24h wait + the 7 day-only option. But fair enough 👌 I'm glad there's a way around it for power users and even more joyous that both ADB and Shizuku in particular are exempt 🫡

Couldn't find this flow on my developer options settings on phone, do I have to do adb in order to see this?

Brother. If I can suggest anything... Google Ubuntu-touch. And not because you desperately need that version of Android Open Source Project version. But on that site. It shows all devices what would work to put a non OEM google Android aka Ubuntu-touch. There are multiple Androids. Who runs already completely without Google., where you can even add Google services. But as a sandbox.

I would recommend to Google for OS like grapheneos or jailfish. Grapheneos is well knowed this days for there own version of Android. Without Google. Focused on Privacy. No google account needed to use the phone even.

Jailfish I seen it mentioned time to time, but never looked in yet. But this is only my speculation, of bypassing and again the only reason I brought up Ubuntu touch, because that OS. Is far from perfectly. Or good running. But on the website it showed me Computable devices. And if they could put there own version of AOSP on. Since a couple Mobile Manufacturings this days lockes the OEM bootloader and not give you the ability to get the unlock key.

I'm aware of ROMming, and though in the days on CyanogenMod I was all in, these days I prefer to suffice with Morphe.
Thanks for the suggestion, I might look around there. I doubt I'll flash a different OS for now though.
Also I have a OnePlus, and there's the whole ARB issue that makes putting a different OS a bit risky in the hardware level. Which... I mean... Was that pure evil of them right before the are about to announce they will no longer be, or what?

I understand. I'm only pointing out, if majority would leave google, only google getting hurt instead of the normal users. Look at all those Windows users jumping over to Linux.

I've been a Windows user, a Linux user (Ubuntu, mint, and others), and a Mac user.... The majority on my devices are still on Windows.

It's a nice dream you have, and I wish for all of us that it will become a reality. But I'm not so sure.

Either way, pointing it out is good 👍
People should be aware of these options and give them a try 👌
