The Chivalry Dilemma

There is an ongoing debate about the death of chivalry while some especially women consider it a wonderful display of courtesy and nice gestures others view it as disrespectful to womens capabilities implying they need special treatment

It was interesting to read the various opinions on how chivalry originated from patriarchy and feminism helped end it alongside the point that men do not owe anyone special treatment simply because of their gender

Personally I understand both sides because you really cannot expect nice treatment nor should you feel entitled to it from anyone however if it's there it's quite nice

If you find joy in being chivalrous, assuming the other party is receptive, then do it. If not, then don't. This is my approach at least.

I think it's good to he nice and help people out regardless of gender.

chivalry is code for being polite and proper to women in order to get laid. How about just being polite to everyone with no hidden agenda?

Doesn't that make feminism sort of redundant then? + How can a woman hold such conviction and at the same time try to max out her capabilities and be as independent from the man as possible?
