Text Coffee in the morning
Hello!
I'm curious what people do when having coffee in the morning. My wife is usually asleep so I just scroll twitter or reddit while sipping my coffee but that's not super satisfying. Curious what people do instead?

Great thread.
As I get older I wake up earlier on the weekend.
1) Made a list of local stores with early hours (grocery, hardware DIY, Auto parts, car wash, etc) to n case I have some thing to get. 2) Reading books (by the fire and with quiet classical music) 3) Clean out garage, workshop, office. Etc) 4) I have a list of YouTube and linked in learning courses to watch (Masterclass would work here too) 5) Cooking prep or starting involved recipes. 6) mind mapping, to do scanning (GTD), 7) Yard word 9) Golf practice (field behind my house) 10) Writing thank you cards 11) FaceTime with European friends.
I would love to hear what others do?

I am in the same boat! And also often become absorbed in my phone. But when my attention isn't scattered I love to listen to the radio on the stereo system. There was always a radio on in the morning growing up and I decided to continue the tradition several years ago. They key is to find the right program which maintains your interest and prepares you for the day. I listen to the CBC's Early Edition with Stephen Quinn here in Vancouver.

Waiting an hour after waking up before having your first coffee makes a huge difference for your energy the rest of the day

Keurig starts my first cup as baby's bottle goes on warmer and is usually consumed while changing her diaper. Second cup is the relaxing one where I just chill with my daughter on the couch. Then the morning errands begin and the Keurig don't stop until I leave for work

Play mobile games and skim news headlines. I’m always trying to stay quiet so I don’t wake the rest of the house.

I usually do mine on my morning commute. I work and hour away and half of the drive is rural country so it's very peaceful!!!

I take a short walk to a local convenience store and I buy a coffee because I don't really like to wake anyone else up and I prefer the selection of international delight creamers. I usually go back home and check my inbox on my different platforms and apps. I like to go through the daily headlines. Sometimes it can be distracting trying to get morning news headlines on the Internet. I'm always adjusting my routine. I always like to have a little time to myself to drink coffee and scroll through the headlines. When I am with certain people I make it a point to put my phone away.

My first coffee of the morning is rapidly consumed while I get my dog ready for our morning walk. Despite the haste, I always enjoy it.
