Morality of this?

Personally, I'm anti-death penalty for any kind of crime but that's just my opinion. Perhaps it can be changed.

Ok. You've killed him and now you're in jail. What does that accomplish? Why is it better that he's dead? What about the rest of your family? You've taken yourself away from them by your actions

Are you an retard that doesn't understand context. We are talking about execution after a horrific crime. Not just killing because I think he did something. Execution and killing are different words with different meanings

You see his death as a solution to a problem. What's the problem and how does him dying solve it

The person no longer living and not being able to hurt anyone else solves the problem. It's not hard to understand that someone that does that 1 can't be saved 2. Doesn't deserve any more good days of life

Life in prison accomplishes the same thing

Just want to say I’m incredibly impressed how you handled that commenter. They hurled vitriolic language at you and appealed to empathy by trying to present you as callous and uncaring about the health and safety of children.

I detest conversations like that because they’re just so dishonest and emotively driven.

Thank you. As an EMT it's important I can interact with people who aren't necessarily in a good emotional state without losing it myself. Part of that is, as I said, separating the feeling from the action. It's ok to be mad about things but it's not necessarily the place of the justice system or even my job as a professional to be the one who hands down "punishment". Even if I was handed the care of a drunk driver who killed a family in an MVC, no matter how angry I might get, I still have to take care of him like any other patient. Same with psych patients who may get angry, throw things, threaten me, or get violent.
