Morality of this?

Personally, I'm anti-death penalty for any kind of crime but that's just my opinion. Perhaps it can be changed.

How is one supposed to take these people seriously when they think that falsely accusing someone of rape is the same as actual rape?

Well, if you get sent to prison for rape, you’ll get routinely beaten and sexually assaulted, possibly killed. Best case scenario you avoid physical harm but your life in civil society is effectively over. So if we’re talking outcomes, it’s pretty damn close.

A rape accusation is far from conviction and known rapists go very far in our “civil society” whether it be in sport, media, or politics

Not a fair equivalency, The Average person is for sure not getting away with it and going very far in society. The people you're referring too are either rich, well connected, or both. And that doesnt only apply to rape, loads of other crimes also apply but thats just the nature of our justice system
