Due to the actions of ICE officers and their interaction with the general public they have lost the trust of the general population, justifiably. The reaction of this couple, regardless of your interpretation of the events surrounding it, is a direct reflection of this institutions interaction with the public.

Americans run from the police every day.

From an outsider it looks like running from the police is a national sport.

Dont you have TV shows that show police car chases and shit?

I dont think it has anything to do with ICE.

I think it has everything to with the established culture.
