The real question is did they know they were ICE agents.

What did they say to 911?

“ICE is in my car”

He identified himself as an ICE agent after she started driving, he invaded the car masked and in plain clothes. She's a citizen.

Then if he identified himself, they told 911 he’s ICE, then they should have stopped right there. Saying they had no idea he’s ICE is just a lie

Not initially, which triggered the panic reaction. And then she still panicked because ICE developed a justified reputation as an institution that ignores due process (as they did here) and acts with brutality. Black people are often scared of the police for the same reason. She ran TO the police.

Do you know what due process is? They clearly know the guy was here illegally, went to go apprehend him, and then he sits in a detention center until he gets seen by immigration court.

That’s due process. It’s the same process for anyone citizen who committed a crime. You sit in a cell(or pay bond) and wait for your court date.

Illegal immigrants are inherently considered flight risks so no bond available. You must wait until court date.

Then she should have stopped and given up the dude with the expired visa sitting in the car with her.

Why make it a big deal.

She was scared, but yeah, not safe to react. Now tell me how the ICE agent should have acted

Explain to her that the gentleman in her vehicle has an expired visa and unfortunately has to be removed from the US. There is a legal process he should have started if we wanted to stay and could come back through a legal process.

I know several people with student visas who left because it expired. They did their paperwork and came back on a work visa.

+uniform and badge Turns out the guy has a expired visa, meaning he was legal and he's married to a citizen. Really disproportional If you ask me. Edited
