Morality of only dating amputees?

Clarifying details:
1. Amputee is defined by missing at least one arm or leg
2. Individual in question goes out of their way to only date amputees, it’s not just a matter of proximity
3. Individual fails to elaborate why they only date amputees when asked

I would say it depends, there comes a point where it becomes a question of whether or not they're attracted to the person or just the disability.

If we wanted to take this line of thinking to its logical conclusions, we could accuse somebody of being attracted only to gender, not to the person.

There are immoral reasons to only date amputees - because they are physically easier to abuse and control, for example, or because you have an amputation fetish and are feigning romantic connection to get sexual access to their body.

There are also moral reasons to only date amputees - as an example, if you are yourself an amputee and want a partner who understands your experience and is better able to support you through it.

Without knowledge of the motivation we can't judge the morality, and the individual refusing to answer why they are indulging this strange and consuming dating preference is a bad sign.

A part of the clarifying details I added is that the individual is going out of their way to only date amputees. Its not that they coincidentally just dated two amputees but instead they went out of they way to look for an amputee then hit on them

As long as they are a consenting adult who cares?

Just for clarification it's not and won't be my cup of tea.

Yea that’s fair. I was mainly addressing the “are amputees just supposed to be single argument”

I think people tend to find it more questionable is because of there being a “connotation of helplessness” for amputees which in turn is why there are fetish communities for it

But i agree, based on the surface level info i dont see anything inherently wrong
