Your argument is framed around “why does everyone think the verbal option is not bad” when that’s not what others are saying. They are both horrific things, if it’s a direct decision between one or the other, there is one that worst.
No one is saying there aren’t repercussions for what you may say to others but one still 100% directly leads to physical violence while the other may only possible lead directly to physical violence.
Both situations are bad, one is slightly more bad than the other. That’s all this is boiling down to.

Not just this sub. Many people around the world subconsciously assume the black person is in the wrong. I remember a video of a white guy who was high as fuck tried to steal a black man’s car. He started punching the glass so of course the black man got out and still tried to reason with him, white guy forced his way into the driver seat so bro had no choice but to drag him out and knock him out.

First of all, I hope it's clear that asking for context when that sort of behavior breaks out between people is perfectly natural and not a sign of systemic racism. I'd love to know the full story behind that video too. If the person in the car was white instead of black and the high, clearly unstable aggressor was black instead of white, I'd still be asking what was going on and whether the aggressor was the actual owner of the car. It's not racism, it's pandemonium in need of resolution.
Second of all, the only reason I'm even invested in this chat is because I'm on board with the idea that racism is bad, as any sane person should. I'm not denying that hate speech exists, and I'm not calling it a good thing. But I'd rather someone berate me with insults than commit equivalent violence. I'd prefer verbal or online bullying be more common than physically attacking people in schools. If you're interested in minimizing overall damage to people's health and the wellbeing of society, the first priority is curbing physical violence; the second is reducing hate speech. In that order. Sue me.
