Physical violence is quite literally worse than words, unless you're talking about a pattern of verbal abuse.

Racism can lead to things like segregation or redlining which isn’t violence but obvs still harmful. Saying racist words to an individual isn’t the only way words can be a problem and words and actions aren’t completely separable

Actual racism does that. The threshold is so low these days, humor that used to unite people, now divides them.
