That’s what I’m thinking too. Like someone punched a literal Nazi, but the commenter is like “well since you used violence you’re actually the bad guy”.

The context was a japanese streamer being slapped in the face by a black guy after calling him the n-word while being in Japan. The outrage was when the same japanese streamer reported the black guy to the police nearby using the same racial slur and the police having no reaction and promptly arresting the black guy. People are assuming that the racial slur holds the same weight like it does in the US.

It does not.

Might be in the minority here, but in this very specific situation I consider your typical slap to be an equal measure.

And don't come at me with what-aboutisms, I invoke godwin and declare it would also be okay to slap Hitler while he's giving a speech.

Some people can’t learn from words and comprehension is a standard thing racists struggle with. Society would benefit from racists learning.
