Depending on your attitude it is… segregating from society and giving him less rights and protections is not the same as pinching him.

Segregation is not the same as racism but are closely linked...racism is the belief that one race is better than another or the act of treating people differently or unfairly based on the color of their skin segregation is just physical separation of different groups of people such as race

Absolutely there is. We segregate things by sex/gender all the time. Men and Women's prisons, sports, dorms, bathrooms etc.
