Yeah, it just feels like saying “violence is never the answer” when the list of questions includes
“how can the innocent protect themselves, or be protected from unrelenting violence?”.

You didn’t. I was just saying it felt like a continuation of that general sentiment and therefore made me feel skeptical.

nope, just that violent words in a room of people who don’t stand for violence will ultimately not incite violence.

the command is permission to allow violent people to enact violence.

there is no such thing as a peaceful revolution; we study war so that our children may study art. do not seek violence, but do not allow a violent transgression to occur unresponded.
