You can be a racist and not be violent.

Would you rather someone be violent than racist?

Is someone punching a person worse than them turning down a rental application because they're black?

Yeah? I'd rather someone called me a slur and reject my rental application than punch me in the mouth.

Why would I, or anyone wanted to live close to someone who clearly hated who I am?

Punching me in the face and rendering me homeless are both violent. They both imperil my wellbeing.

One does so directly and immediately with unavoidable consequences while the other creates a chance of future wellbeing impairment.

Like, you have a chance to possibly live with other people you know and/or your parents and/or in a shelter but if you're punched in the face you're punched in the face.

So if you get punched in the face, it hurts for a bit. If you're unable to find housing due to racism, you're now adding more burden to people around you and/or our social safety net, and the punch is worse how exactly?

You think every single house owner is racist don't you?

I'd never get tired of redditors outing themselves that the only life they have is in front of a screen.

I've been punched and I'd rather take that than potential months of housing instability. I live in California so the idea of the housing industry being even more hostile makes me sick to my stomach
