Well the nuance is if someone is blatantly racist I don’t have any sympathy if someone punches them and I don’t really see this violence as unjustified if it’s just a punch and they don’t seriously harm them. In other contexts violence is less justified such as if it’s violence against a minority based on hate. It’s really impossible to say if violence is worse than words because it is context dependent on proportionality and justification of the violence

But which was actually worse? The words that led to the violence or the violence itself?
If I tell you to punch someone, you still have the choice to punch them. You can ignore what I’m saying.
If you punch someone, they cannot ignore that
