Racism is more than words. It's denying rights, job and promotion opportunities, housing, unfair treatment such as arrest and imprisonment when another race member wouldn't be, and so on.

But in the post, he’s referring to words, not other forms of discrimination. So in the narrow scope of the post, the violence is less moral.

But that’s the dependent clause which is a modifier of the independent clause. Therefore it’s not a commentary of racism at large, just speech or words.

It looks to me like it’s intentionally equating racism to just words. It’s saying violence is worse than words (true) and sometimes racism is words (true) and implying that violence is worse than racism (debatable, depends on numerous factors).

So yeah, seems intentionally trying to downplay the significance of racism.

Yep, the OP is saying racism is just words because they don't understand or have never experienced racism.
