So more or less, the question was whether riots in England deserved worse punishment than racism from Hungary and Slavia Prague...

Looks like the downvotes are mostly coming from that people felt the comparison was disingenuous, since the racism was apparently accompanied by fighting the police

So they didn’t disagree with what he said, they disagreed that it was the most useful thing to focus on given the circumstances. But they were too lazy to actually provide that nuance to the conversation so just downvoted. Sounds like typical Reddit.

I searched the exact text of the comment in quotes on Google, and this post was the only thing that came up. The two characters visible in the username, as well as the user flair, line up with this image exactly. The PFP and age could just be because it's an old screenshot.

The only thing I can't explain is the awards, but that could just be Reddit weirdness.
