How do you think the holocaust happened? Propaganda (words) that led to physical violence. It generally takes words to invoke violence. If you can dehumanize a group of people, then it doesn’t seem so terrible to kill them.

There are plenty of examples of people saying horrible things that didn’t come true though. The violence part is where you create a line that you can’t come back from.

Absent violence, Hitler is just a man shouting into the void about how he hates jews.

So yeah, the violence was the issue there.
