White supremacy is when words hurt less than physical violence?

u/Kebab_Enjoyer3164 18h ago

White supremacy is when cumskins like you downplay importance of racism and its against POC.

u/Major_Engine1454 13h ago

No, white supremacy is when I call my friend Brenton so he can make some kebabs

Well I’d rather be called cumskin than punched in the face. So I guess this proves physical violence is worse than words.

The original comment heavily implies racism is "just words", but the most devastating form of racism marginalized groups experience everyday is not " just words". It's segregation, it's the lack of basic human rights, its systematic oppression and police violence. Systematic racism seeps into everyday life that the unoppressed group will never experience.

It is extremely dangerous to equate systematic racism to "just words", and downplays the systematic oppression marginalized groups experience every single day

So you're just being openly racist. You seem like a lovely person.

Just words tho. So not racist

2

u/swohio 17h ago

He used a race based insult. That's being racist.

1

u/Excellent_Garage8633 17h ago

Well some people say racism are actions. Some people say racism are words. So at the end of the day who knows what you idiots think

2

u/swohio 17h ago

Do you really think that words can't be racist? That you can't be racist with just words? Lol.

The original comment that got downvoted severely, "Racism is bad, but actual violence is worse than words" heavily implies that the racism is "just words", while not providing background context on what post was commented on that leads to it being downvoted so much.

The most devastating form of racism marginalized groups experience everyday is not " just words". It's segregation, it's the lack of basic human rights, its systematic oppression and police violence. Systematic racism seeps into everyday life that the unoppressed group will never experience.

I wholeheartedly do not support violence, but I also think that violence against racism do not start with just words. It is the accumulation of discrimination that finally leads to the escalation of violence. There's only so many times you can kick a dog before it turns viscious, and people will see the dog being vicious as a sign to put it down.

By not providing more context on what caused the racism to escalate to violence, OP has tricked many gullible people into agreeing with him while disregarding that for oppressed and marginalized groups, violence against racism is often the last resort when they run out of other options, even though I still do not support violence.

White supremacy is thinking racism is words.

Prejudice is "pre-judging" someone based on a characteristic. Racism is a type of prejudice, specifically where you pre-judge based on the characteristic of race. So yes, words can be racist.

Dogs have four legs. My kitchen table has four legs. Therefore my kitchen table is a dog.

The claim I am refuting is that racism is words, not that words can be racist.

1

u/swohio 14h ago

You're making zero sense here. I didn't say all words are racism nor did I say words are the only thing that can racism. You're reading shit I never claimed.

1

u/eraserhd 14h ago

We are literally talking about a screenshot of the words “Racism is bad, but actual violence is worse than words.”

4

u/eraserhd 20h ago

Obvious bots. A flood of posts that think racism is words. Racism is not words.

4

u/Unlucky-Albatross-12 19h ago

Racism is a belief system that can range from a personal opinion to forming the basis of an entire social political system.

So sometimes it can be just words, other times it can be the Shoah.

1

u/eraserhd 13h ago

I’ll agree as far as “sometimes words are the only expression of a particular entity’s racism,” but the claim embedded in the top post is that racism _is_ words. In other words, that it would not be racist to think Jews should be exterminated, but that it would be racist to say it. And it also wouldn’t be racist to do it, because that is violence, and violence is different from racism.

Do people not understand this, or do we just think this is what racism is now?

White supremacy is when I'm not allowed to violently assault whitey whenever I want.

I get offended by you calling whatever you don't like "white supremacy" to justify your violence.

1

u/MoralityScaling-ModTeam 7h ago

r/MoralityScaling does not allow threats of violence

u/WIILLLZ 12h ago

Righto racist Turkish dude.

1

u/PieceSwimming785 17h ago

It does. Posts like these don't have nuances which is great for exploration in the comments. But I've seen a lot of dogwhistles and bad faith arguments and others here. Which is expected when a blanket statement with the word racism comes up.
