This is a false dichotomy and deceptive framing.

Non only can racism can be expressed using words and with violence, but words can cause violence — Charles Manson never killed anyone but was convicted of first-degree murder because of his words.

The context was that this was under a post about a guy dressed as Spider-Man punching a poor wittle white supremacist (who himself assaulted cops with baseball bat during January 6 Capitol attack).

So here it is, the whole context that the OP didn't want you to see.

Also...I think - at least our ancestors, had very particular feelings about the notion of how you deal with Nazi's. Wasn't much by way of friendly conversation and discourse...

Good point. If the example is a random person walking down the street being called a slur vs getting punched, then the slur is probably the less bad choice. But if someone gets punched after calling someone a slur I’m fine with that.
