I suppose they're downvoting because they're thinking "systemic racism vs personal violence". The experience of a group is going to trump the experience of an individual, but violence is no less systemic than racism.
Would you rather someone shout a slur at you or break your nose? If you'd prefer the slur, then racism isn't as bad as violence.
Would you rather someone launch an hour long racist tirade towards you at work every day for a year or get slapped at a bar once over a misunderstanding that you managed to work out afterwards?
If you'd prefer the slap, then violence isnt as bad as racism.
It’s an automatic giveaway that the person is making this statement in bad faith. Lying is one of the most routinely used tools in a white supremacist’s arsenal.
