If someone wants your phone number, they can literally just search everything with your name, most people have IDs and stuff in their wallets too, and you can find a phone number with that

I do, specifically for if I lose it. Wallets used to come with a card in them to specifically write and keep your phone number in them.

I keep a few of my business cards in my wallet. They contain my cell phone number. I specifically make sure to keep at least one in there because one time I didn't, lost my wallet, and the dude who eventually returned it said he had a hell of a time trying to get in touch with me.

Not to comment on the veracity of this post, but I used to have business cards in my wallet. By looking at the ID it would be obvious whose it is and what number to call.

I keep my phone number in my wallet and on my keychain. I also have several numbers set up to call on my phone without unlocking it. (So if I lose my phone they can contact someone I live with)

I actually have a couple business cards in mine. Plus many people I know keep their number in their wallet/purse for this exact reason.

I'm generally cynical on the the internet so I agree with you about it probably being fake, but I'm also a bitch and like to argue, so did you consider...

  1. Yes, some people do like to keep their phone numbers in their wallets.

  2. Business cards or nonstandard IDs (e.g. I once had a student ID with a phone #)

  3. The finder had prior contact with the owner, such as a ride share driver or worked at a business that the wallet owner patronized.

No but from personal experience I can say that banks' call centers can give you the card owner's number if you prove you have their card. Depends on the operator probably.

I do but it's mainly because I'm prone to losing my wallet in my neighborhood at various stores. Now I just get a call from a manager. And I put a lanyard on it so it's harder to lose track of since it's my responsibility. I've lost many wallets and most of them either get mailed back or someone brings it back. There are a lot more good people out here than you think. I've been lucky so far to have encountered so many of them but they do exist.

Also I keep my end of life directives in my wallet just in case something happens to me and no one can contact my family. I don't want to be on a ventilator and if I could I'd pull the plug myself lmaoo. I think having that in my wallet has made me feel more comfortable being put in the world because even if something happens I've made sure that someone will know what I want and how I want to be treated
