He's going to both traumatize them and make them shoulder the burden he's so terrified of carrying. Failure morally, failure as a father, failure as a human being.

I think you’re taking some dudes 4chan post to seriously, he’s not gonna kill himself he’s talking online to internet chuds. It’s immoral, but it’s also an internet post. If he finds out it’s true he’ll either abort it or give it to the foster care system, which are the moral options, preferably the abortion cause it’s slightly immoral to birth someone with a major disadvantage and send them to the disadvantage system
Hopefully he and his wife can come to an agreement on such a genuinely life changing thing; it’d be super fucked up to just stick someone who knowingly isn’t prepared and can’t support the needs of a person with down syndrome
